Villa Sentosa is the sole traditional Malay house found in the busting city and well chronicled in Melaka tourism websites. Tourists from all over the country have come to this house to see for themselves how the traditional home was built. The house was built during early years of the 20th century and the house's present owner decided to convert this house into a private museum because of its uniqueness.
Inside the house you’ll be able to find traditional Malay artifacts such as furniture and embroidered items. You’ll also find a wide variety of costumes that were used in Malay culture. Also an attraction is a 200 year old gong, believed to help fulfill the wishes of couples who want to have a child. Tourists should enjoy this with the activities in Melaka since none other than the owner will give you a tour around the house. You can also ask permission from the owner if you want to hit the gong three times to fulfill your wishes. The owner, Tuan Hj Hashim bin Dato' Demang Hj Abdul Ghani is known far and wide for his hospitality.
