Going to the Penang Butterfly Farm is very easy. Being close to the popular hotels and resorts for the tourists, they are practically a ride away. The butterfly farm was established in 1986 and was reputed to be the first live butterfly sanctuary boosting the Penang tourism considerably. Inside you’ll see almost 4,000 butterflies gracing the gardens. You can go around the garden and see butterflies around you flying freely. The trees and the plants are carefully protected to make sure the butterflies stays there. Visiting this garden is one of the most memorable activities in Penang.
Aside from the butterflies, there is a small section in the garden dedicated to small native reptiles of the country. A total of 150 different species could also be seen in the butterfly garden. Another added attraction in the butterfly garden is the Museum of Asian Artifacts. You can practically spend an afternoon there with the butterflies and animals. Usually, more than 200 tourists go there so you won’t miss this popular destination. Prepare a small fee for entrance.
