One of the world’s busiest airports, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport is the gateway for more than 35 million passengers every year. The airport was built in 1990 and officially opened to the public eight years later. By that time, Malaysia is already one of the Asia’s preferred tourist destinations and the airport is a perfect compliment to the country’s growing economy especially the sights in Kuala Lumpur. The airport is also the hub of the country’s flagship airline, Malaysia Airlines. Aside from the passengers, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport also receives more than 1 millions tonnes of cargo every year. The airport is still expanding and is projected to increase its capacity over the years.
Because of the sheer number of passengers who pass through the airport, tourists are always advised to prepare before they arrive in this airport. Although the airport is surprisingly comfortable even with all the people, preparation is always the key. It’s a little bit far from the things to do in Kuala Lumpur (50 kilometers) but the airport has more than enough facilities to get the tourists to their preferred destination.
