The National Mosque of Malaysia is situated in Kuala Lumpur and it is reverently called the Masjid Negara. Placed in 13 acres of beautiful landscapes, this massive structure is an expression of modern architecture becoming one of the top sights of Kuala Lumpur. The mosque’s minaret is 73 meters high which can practically be seen from any point of the surrounding area. The structure has an 18 point roof is painted blue which blends with the sky. Before 1987, the roof was originally painted pink when it was constructed in 1961. Major reconstruction has changed the face of the mosque and it has increased its capacity which is now at 15,000.

Tourists are welcome to visit one of Kuala Lumpur famous attractions. However, they are required to be in proper dress as this is a holy place for worship. No sandals and sleeveless shirts and the women are especially advised to wear formal clothing. Tourists should be able to visit notable areas of the mosque where they can get great views of the mosque and take in the silence of the surroundings even though it’s in the middle of the bustling city.
