"Staff were very pleasant; our second room was small but sunny and nice..."
Pros: Staff were very pleasant; our second room was small but sunny and nice (#409). lobby and public areas are lovely and interesting, better than rooms.
Cons: Rooms can be very noisy--we had to change after first night from one with a connecting door to another room and no sound insulation; we were badly bitten by mosquitos, seemingly arising from the bathroom drain; desk staff didn't speak much english and spoke very rapid spanish, so we didn't realize until checkout that in our package we'd had a 300 peso/day credit for all facilities, which we could have used. also, we were steered away from taxis to more $$ private cars, and had one bad experience with a greedy driver.
