In Mexico City, located on Avenida Paseo de la Reforma and Calzada Gandhi, Colonia Chapultepec Polanco, just outside the gates of Chapultepec park, you’ll find the National Museum of Anthropology. This museum houses the very largest collection of ancient Mexican artifacts in the entire country.

You’ll find the rooms on the right hand side of the entrance dedicated to the different periods of ancient Mexican history arranged in chronological order, going counter clockwise from the right. When your feet get tired from walking around the large museum, there’s a big courtyard where you can sit to take a break. Besides the rooms on the right, if you go to the left upon entering, you’ll find halls devoted to such cultural areas of Mexico as the Oaxaca and the Mayans.
