The Museo de la Isla de Cozumel (In English, the Museum of the Island of Cozumel) has a wide variety of in-depth exhibits explaining the natural, archaeological and paleontological history of the island of Cozumel, as well as exhibits which explain the island’s eco-system and the natural environment, including studies of the mangroves and coral reefs, and exhibits which deal with the local wildlife conversation efforts. The ground floor is dedicated to these nature exhibits, with the top floor showcasing ancient artifacts found in nearby Mayan archaeological sites, as well as relics left behind by the Spanish Conquistadors.

The museum is open between the hours of 10am and 6pm every day, and the building also contains the Del Museo cafe, which is reviewed by most of its visitors as an excellent coffee shop with a decent selection, and, of course, the perfect way to pep yourself up before a long study session.
