Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula includes Quitana Roo and the Maya Riviera. You can relax on one of the beaches of Playa Langosta, Playa Tortugas or Playa Linda at Cancún. These include the archaeological site of Tulum. Here lie the remains of a pre-Columbian Mayan city. You can see more than 50 structures including the walls and the Temple of Paintings. Yucatan Peninsula is about sun, water and sand. You can snorkel in the reef off the Playa de Chunzubul or dive in the La Barra de Kin nearby the Isla Mujeres. There is a wildlife sanctuary reef close by and the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve near Chuzubul. In addition, you can watch the whale sharks when they arrive in the waters off Holbox Island.
