One of the north-western most regions in Morocco, Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer covers an area of about 9,580 square kilometers, and boasts a population of around two and a half million people. Interestingly, the vast majority of the population of the region lives along the coastal area. As far back as history records go, this has always been true, starting with the early Phoenician settlements on the very edge of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer. Today, this group, the Chellah, has left behind ruins that are very important to archaeology buffs visiting the area. Among these ruins, you’ll find a forum, a triumphal arch, and a monumental fountain.
Bear in mind, being dominated largely by coastal towns, you can expect Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer to be pretty packed in the summertime. In other words, don’t expect to be able to find a great, cheap hotel in Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer without booking ahead with us at EasyToBook.com. Otherwise, expect to pay possibly high rates for the last room in town.
