Bhaktapur Durbar Square resembles a castle and was a former royal seat in the mid 1700’s. Visitors to the square can now enjoy local artwork and see the Golden Gate of 1756.

A more modern side of Nepal exists in Pokhara. Cheap hotels in Nepal are a great base for enjoying this lakeside town. Pokhara is a jumping off point for trekkers to Anapurna and many restaurants and bars have opened to accommodate the crowds.
