Mansion Hotel Bos & Ven Oisterwijk  

We had booked a luxury room and on arrival given our keys. We located the room at the far end of a long corridor and on entering were not impressed - this was not a luxury room. We returned to reception to be told 'we were correct this was not a luxury room. They did not have a luxury room or other suite to up grade us . We said we were not willing to pay the luxury room rate and we asked to speak the manager, who had to phone the Director of the hotel before offering us a 20 euro reduction. This was less than the difference in price of the standard vs luxury room, which they finally agreed was 34 euros! However we were not happy to accept this amount and asked to speak to the Director. We were told she/he had a day off so we asked to talk to the director in the morning. We had already been charged for this hotel and so could not walk away, which we would have liked to have done. We were left waiting for a decision about talking to the Director for a long time and finally the receptionist said they would offer us 40 euros - we were getting nowhere in regard to them understanding the concept of compensation and so reluctantly accepted - we will now be writing to the hotel Directors to complain and hope to get a better response.
