The A Train Hotel Amsterdam is a unique 3-star hotel, ideally located in front of the central railway station, in the beating heart of the city. Shopping areas, the Red Light District and other tourist attractions, pubs, restaurants, and theatres are all within walking distance. Central Station is in front of the hotel. The hotel is only 15-20 minutes away from Schiphol Airport, RAI and WTC.

The A Train Hotel in Amsterdam is a cosy hotel run by Jos and Erika Heijnsdijk, and will be a comfortable place to stay during your tourist or business visit. You can take a canal boat tour from the stop opposite the hotel. The hotel aims to please you, offering an informal atmosphere.

All 34 rooms are comfortably furnished and have modern bathrooms. No two rooms are alike in this surprising train-themed hotel. Smoking, non-smoking and family rooms are available, but please be informed that all public areas in the A Train Hotel Amsterdam are non-smoking and a non-smoking or smoking room cannot be guaranteed.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now its a nice clean hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is situated outside central station which is perfect as its also 5 min walk from dam square. Would stay again and definitely recommend

 "Good value in a good location."
While not in the best part of Amsterdam this hotel provides a good central location particularly if travelling by rail or car. [If travelling by car use the park and ride system which includes free train tickets for the journey to Amsterdam Central Station which is 5 mins from the hotel]Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and speak good English. The rooms, though small, are perfectly adequate and equipped to an acceptable standard.

This is my second visit to this hotel i personally find the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, fresh towels everyday, perfect location, good view and good selection of food at breakfast time would stay again.

 "Great Location"
Gr8 location good access to city. Room VERY small! Bed NOT comfy, no curtain on shower so water ends up all over the floor. Good breakfast, but coffee/tea is NOT complimentary after 10am..disappointing

 "Small friendly hotel"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the A Train Hotel in Amsterdam, it was like staying in a friendly B & B. we were even given breakfast when we arrived at the hotel after our long flight & our room was ready at 10 30 am. We would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Amsterdam. Location very central & breakfast excellent.

 "Nice Hotel"
Good place to stay very clean and friendly helpful staff. Great location right outside central station and close to bars and eateries and red light district. Will be going back. Price includes breakfast but you have to pay for tea and coffee which I don't understand, orange juice is free though !

 "Really nice hotel"
Hotel was really nice and the staff were very friendly. Central location opposite Central Station and close to lots of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was included which was brilliant. Room was small but we only slept in it so it didn't matter.

 "Well above average"
One of the better 3 star hotels in Amsterdam. If I had to complain - it would be about the breakfast. Other than that - a good hotel. The Bellevue hotel ( very close to a-train ) is also good. Both in excellent locations , both clean . If I could not get into the A-train then I would try for Bellevue... one noticeable difference - Bellevue does not have porn on the TV , A-train does !

Stayed with friends, location amazing, room was just what we wanted and the staff could not do enough to help. Really cold in the centre but was not a problem in the hotel as the heating was always on so no cold room. Will def stay here again as for excellent for value for money

 "nice train hotel"
this small and very typical hotel, for admirors of trains, photo's and accessories around, this is fantastic. the location is excellent, in front of the central station, close to shops and the wallekes. a lot of pubs and restaurants at walking distance.

In the Pullman lounge you can enjoy a continental breakfast buffet and relax with a drink and a snack afterwards. The breakfast consists of beschuit (special Dutch breakfast biscuit), butter and margarine, jam assortments, chocolate paste, honey, hazelnut paste, ham, chickenfilet and cheese, cornflakes and muesli, boiled eggs, various coffees, tea and hot chocolate, milk and fruit juice, and white, dark and raison bread. A toaster is available.
