I can not fault this hotel with a great location, the hotel is spotlessly clean with clean crisp fresh linen, the rooms very warm and welcoming and again spotless the staff are very welcoming and friendly, its just like going home, the hotel facilities are very good. The view from the hotel is great looking out over the canal and central station and the noise is minimum at night with a fantastic night time view. A great all round hotel

We decided to go to this hotel because is near Multatuli Hotel (50 m away) where we have been last year: A-Train is really unique cause of his furniture (Trains, train posters everywhere, train furniture during breakfast). The rooms are clean, staff is friendly, and is well located for people coming from the railway station that is 2 minutes by foots away.We took one standard room and one superior room: the first one was really tiny, and the second one was OK, a little bit noisy with a beautiful view.

Pros: The a train hotel is always clean the staff are always on hand to help and nothing is too much , the breakfast is alwyas well presented and fresh. the room is always clean with frsn linin and towels daily if you requireall rooms have private bathrooms which is always clean, i have stayed at this hotel 3 times and on each visit have never had any complaint, a grat friendly family hotel

Pros: A localização do hotel é excelente, a menos de 5 minutos a pé da estação central e pertíssimo de todos os grandes pontos turísticos da cidade.
o staff era extremamente simpático. foi possível tomar o pequeno almoço mais de uma hora depois do previsto e guardaram a bagagem até às 16h sem problemas (o check out era às 11h).
o quarto era agradável e com uma boa vista, mostrava higiene e não houve problemas com a água quente.
no geral, fiquei satisfeito com o hotel.
Cons: Só existia um pequeno cheiro a canalização na casa de banho e o aquecimento não parecia funcionar bem (mas por azar também houve um corte de energia naquela parte da cidade durante a noite).

Pros: This quirky family owned train-themed hotel could not be in a better located position, opposite the central station and at the heart of downtown amsterdam. the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful and the availability of the free secure luggage room was a plus should you arrive in amsterdam earlier than the booking-in time or leaving later than the check-out time. the hundreds of old locamotive models and artifacts around the hotel, and the layout of the main areas gave the hotel a feel of an old train station booking-office and buffet restaraunt. the long by narrow twin "first class" room we had was clean and a good size with tv, tea and coffee making facilities. overall impressions of the "atrain" were very good and although it is sited on a very busy road and transport hub, it would not deter us from rebooking a stay in the future.

Pros: One young man on reception was very welcoming although all staff were jolly and helpful. rooms were a little small but more than adequate. they were clean and generally in good decorative order. the breakfast was simple but tasty and filling. i would recommend staying at this hotel.
