The hotel is located in The Pijp, and is next to many great attractions; the former Danish Consulate in Amsterdam is up the street, and the hotel is across the "Sarphati Park", one of the most acclaimed parks in the city.
Across the park is the Albert Cuyp market which sells everything from furniture, to Dutch food delicacies, to clothing, and more. Not far away from the hotel, guests can find themselves at the Heineken Brewery where they can experience the brewing process as well as enjoy a complimentary gift, and drinks.
Should a museum, be of interest, it will only be a 10-minute walk or 5 minutes by tram to the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh museum. There are tram stops situated right next to the hotel, which takes the guests right into the heart of the city.
How to reach the Aalborg Hotel?2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram nr. 4 or 25 from the square in front of the station to the 'Van Woustraat' or the 'Tweede van der Helststraat'. Great people, food, location, had a great time. easy access to the city centre, beautiful park oposite the hotel, brilliant restaurant on the corner of the street. our room was rather simple and modest but the bathroom, breakfast room and terrace were really cosy. Nothing serious really, great value, would recommend to people who don't really need any luxury but do have some standardAnonymous

The room was clean and the staff helpful. the front desk staff all spoke english The rooms were smaller than they appeared to be in photos, but this was offset by the low price. we had a very difficult time finding a restraunt that was open. when we arrived the cab driver drove off with our change. theses last two things are not the fault of the hotel, but as a traveler i believe they should be aware of these thingsAnonymous

The staff is nice, but inefficient.I booked i quadruple and when i got there they said there was a mistake and the room was not available. they wanted to send us to another hotel, further away form the city centre and more expensive. we thought that wasn't an option. so we ask if they would put an extra bed in the triple room that was mistakenly reserved for us. but they wouldn't, until the young guy dare to call his manager, and after talking to him, he promised we would get the extra bed and free breakfast. we though that was a great compensation for not saving the room we booked. but the extra bed didn't appear any of the 2 nights, and again the stuff didn't know how to manage that. Staff very accommodating and polite.The hotel room was very cold - heating didn't appear to be working. the bedding was rather thin and inadequate, and i had to wear a fleece to keep warm in bed.Rowell
