Walking around this area you will be amazed by the stunning canal houses, many of which have been extremely well preserved, including The Museum Van Loon, which provides a fascinating glimpse into how wealthy Dutch merchants lived during the Dutch Golden Age. The apartment is just a short walk from the lively Leidseplein with its high density of bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs and live music venues. If you are interested in art, the Museum Quarter is home to the Rijks Museum and Van Gogh Museum as well as high quality bars, cafes and restaurants and certainly provides a different feel from that of the livelier Leidseplein.
