Hotel Acro is surrounded by the prestigious "P.C. Hooftstraat" shoppingstreet with it's designer shops, markets, small shops, bars, restaurants and the world-famous Vondelpark. Other shopping streets are just a few minutes walking distance from the hotel and ofcourse the world-famous museums such as the "Rijksmuseum" and the "Van Gogh museum" on the Museumplein as well as the Concertgebouw (Concert building) are around the corner.
This part of Amsterdam offers a lot of possibilities, for example the Holland casino and the Leidseplein nightlife district with it's many bars & restaurants, all within less than 5 minutes walking from the hotel. At 10 minutes walking distance you'll find the Albert Cuyp open air market and the Vondelpark, Amsterdam's green heart, is in the immediate vicinity.
How to reach the Acro Hotel?By taxi, from Schiphol Airport: When taking a taxi, don’t pay more than approximately 35 Euros (most expensive). The trip will take about 20 minutes. The hotel can arrange a taxi for 40 Euros, waiting for you at the Airport's meetingpoint. Please let the hotel know if you want them to arrange it.
By Shuttle bus, from Schiphol Airport: A shuttle bus runs straight to the hotel (12 Euro per person) and the trip takes about 30 minutes. For additional information please check: www.Schipholhotelshuttle.nl
By train, from Schiphol Airport: Take the train to station 'Zuid WTC' and from there take tram 5, direction central station. Get off at tram stop 'Hobbemastraat' (which is behind the 'Rijksmuseum') and from there it is a a 1-minute walk to the hotel. This is the cheapest option to reach the hotel and the trip takes about 45 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.
You can also take the train to Amsterdam Central Station and from there take a tram to the hotel as described below.

Very good clean room and friendly man on check in/out deskI booked a room where i had requested a smoking room. not particulary impressed by almost being told off by one of the hotel staff for having smoked in the room. was told it would be preferable to go outside as new covers had been put on bed. to be honest greatly inconvenienced me on last night there.really enjoyed stay apart from this, but for that reason alone, won't be returning.Hoogstraten

When we arrived we were allocated two rooms instead of the three that we had booked. after consultation with their paperwork, the hotel admitted their mistake and re-roomed us giving us a rebate because of their mistake. the rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful.Mackenzie

Its so handy to the tram stop and very close to the city centre, excellant place to stay if you do not want to stay in the red light district, but want to be central.The rooms are not very sound proof.Anonymous

An amazing hotel, great price & an excellent location. very good value for a clean & comfortable stay in the city, with easy access to everything & many services offered to make your stay better too (i.e approved taxi company you can trust)Hardly anything, except on my return day, i left the hotel @ 7.30 but breakfast did not open until 7.30, so if you have an early flight its best to check with the hotel if you want breakfast that morning. thats all i can think of really.Kelly

First class!great location,staff and great value for money.Late arrival of a crowd of english couples who had no regard for other guest's in term's of noise and banging door's.no surprise there! didn't spoil my stay but that kind of selfish behaviour is out of order.i had to come out of my room and tell them to shut up!they did thankfully!your staff were very sympathetic the following day. not your fault. used acro four time's and will continue to do so,great hotel! thank's again.Anonymous

Very nice and friendly stuff, ordered amongst others a pizza for me and sold me a tram card. by the way, the location is good particularly since the tram which goes to central station (and passes all city centre) is directly at the end of the street. i'd recommend the place, really good especially for what you usually get in amsterdam.The price seems expensive at first (and it isn't so cheap), but remember amsterdam is really expensive in general!Anonymous

Very friendly and helpfull staff. very clean room. excellent location. excellent and wide variety of food for breakfast.(if very busy near 10:00). highly recommended for budget concious travelers ( but in no way a hostel type hotel).Get up before 9:45 for breakfast!
