"extremely nice hotel, small reasons but extremely nice!"
in terms of location, breakfast, service, how tidy it is, staff it is a great hotel. the only down side which you should be aware of is the rooms are small, it will be the smallest room you have ever stayed in but that said it is lovely, comfotable and very practical and a clean working shower with plenty of hotwater . the location of the museum quarter with tram 2 or 5 being a three minute walk away is very good. it is easy to find and near everything, there are plenty of land marks near by and central. after a busy day out and about it is nice to get back to a quiet area. would highly reccomend this place. although small it is a boutique hotel, has a great breakfast room and a good selection of breakfast / refreshments

"Perfect Location for a busy weekend"
The Poet Hotel was in a brilliant location for us, with both the Van Gogh and Rijks Museums being on the doorstep. Having a tram stop at the top of the street to take us to the rest of the city was perfect as it meant we could explore without having to get taxis and also rest our tired feet when we'd done enough walking! The hotel itself was clean, modern and trendy. Our room - although a little on the small side - was comfortable and perfectly functional for the 3 nights we were in the city. The breakfast was good and there was a good choice that covered most tastes. The only down side was the shower, I guess as there were quite a few guests in the hotel at the same time as us, it was difficult to have a shower without either being scalded or frozen (and sometimes both during the same shower). I would definitely reccommend the hotel to others as it really was in a great location (avoiding large groups of stags and hens) and had a lot of great shops restaurants and sights right on the doorstep!

"Location was perfect"
Pros: Location was perfect. the rooms had potential to be great since they are renovated.
Cons: The rooms are beyond small, perfect if your a single traveller, tight if your more than 1. also rooms never felt clean. sometimes they didn't even come to change towels.
Pros: Receptionist super friendly and very helpful. good location -beside museums, nice and quiet, but if you'r looking for more action-it's too far from city center.
very clean!
Cons: Super small rooms and beds
"Good location very helpfull staff clean good breakfast"

"Excellent location, quiet and clean"
Pros: Excellent location, quiet and clean.
Cons: The tiniest room in the world! but it was all we needed and was very clean and comfortable - hard to dry yourself after a shower as no room! very noisy radiator pipes which woke us at night - otherwise quiet. it would be worth noting that the hotel is completely inacessible, even from the street for anyone with reduced mobility.

"Friendly staff greeted us on arrival"
Pros: Friendly staff greeted us on arrival. shuttle bus from airport is my suggestion - so easy. small room but clean and tidy - better than most of our amsterdam experiences. the lift was small but wonderful as the stairs are very steep and windy. breakfast was plentiful and well presented. highly recommend this hotel. trams closeby - get a day pass for 7euro and you can go anywhere.
Pros: Generally this is a pretty good hotel.
Cons: If i had to fault it - it was a little bit noisy - from other guests. the television reception was rubbish - something i noticed somebody else mentioned months ago too. oh yeah - the breakfast is "adequate" - the coffee is from a machine - as is the juice. but then...i found amsterdam food and service in general to be very ordinary.

"Clean, well-designed bedrooms"
Pros: Clean, well-designed bedrooms. comfortable beds. not much space, especially in bathroom, but this is perhaps understandable in amsterdam at the price.
Cons: No

"Bedroom recently refurbished"
Pros: Bedroom recently refurbished. nicely furnished, comfortable bed and very clean including the en-suite shower room. continental breakfast included the expected items which were fresh and plentiful.
Cons: The rooms we had were just too small. feedback described some as "compact" which indeed they were but this was one large room converted into two so they were long and narrow, like staying in a caravan! if the rooms were a metre wider they would be great. to make matters worse the room opposite was larger than our two put together. if you book here request one of the bigger rooms! lighting on the stairs needs improving, the brown walls make them dark even during the day.

"Clean room, small but had everything needed"
Pros: Clean room, small but had everything needed. good breakfast.
Cons: Drain in shower not great. all towels removed whilst at breakfast (even though hung up, not left on floor) and none available to then have shower / wash hair with !!
