Several trams stop in front of the hotel to bring you to the centre of Amsterdam and every other place you'd like to visit.
How to reach the Alp Hotel?1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: Take tram nr 13 from the square in front of the station and get off at 'Bilderdijkstraat/De Clerqstraat'. The tram stop is located in front of the hotel. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

Great breakfast, clean, good looking rooms, nice staff.
bit of a walk from dam square but fine if you already know amsterdam. can always take the tram.
You have to expect steep stairs in holland, so if you can't climb up loads of stairs then request a room in a lower floor.ONEILL

From the time we walked into the hotel to the time we left we could not have been more impressed witht the staff, hotel and location. not to sure what to say about the climb up the 4 flights of stairs to our room but took it as a minor hiccup.Anonymous

The hotel was just as described, clean with all rooms on-suite, the breakfast was very good, staff helpful at all times and the location was a straight 12 minute walk to dam square. after reading reports about many hotels in amsterdam i was a little aprehensive but i would recommend the alp to anyone looking for accomodation at this sort of price.Lenders

Loved breakfast variety. rooms clean, basic and quiet. liked chocolate, fruit and water complimentary in room daily. convenient safe in room and wifi access. staff very helpful and knowledgeable and well versed in english and other languages. Location a little far but tram runs right in front of hotel. need elevator for room access -stairs way to steep. need phone in room to call front desk. Anonymous

This is a lovely hotel, the atmosphere informal, relaxed and friendly. for its 2 star rating it's excellent and exceptional value. the hotel staff are not only good humoured and very friendly but also go out of their way to be helpful. we stayed in a room with a balcony at the back of the hotel overlooking gardens so it was a quiet and pleasant stay. breakfast is fulsome and varied. all in all, we would highly recommend this hotel! We will choose a room nearest to the ground floor as it's a steep climb otherwise to a room at the top where we stayed on this occasion. chapman

Nice, clean, light, airy hotel. easy to find, only 1 tram ride away from central, easy access to all sites. very nice breakfast served, highly recommended. We were based to the front of the hotel and therefore it was slightly noisy due to the trams.LINDBLAD

The staff at the alp hotel are absolutely charming. the decorative palette is truly professional. the cleanliness is beyond reproach. lovely breakfast spread! would definitely repeat the experience and refer future guests, even for longer stay. the owners and management will go to armslength to please customers. for a 2 star hotel, it is truly fantastic, great location!Unfortunately, the hotel was less accessible on account of road repairs, which, we presume, have now come to an end. this will the access easier for future guests and is through no fault of the owners.Gstoettenbauer

There were roadworks outside hotel very noisy and started at 4am. we booked a room with a balcony but the rooms on the front of the hotel do not have balconies like that which are shown on the website, more like slabs of concrete with metal grates in front of them and only enough room for one person at a time. the room blinds were broken and let in the sunlight. you are not allowed food in your room. overall an unpleasant experience for the price
