Ams Suites Amsterdam    

I recently stayed on 5th Jan 2013 for a quick weekend birthday trip. Hotel wasnt easy to find at first but with a bit of help from the locals we soon got used to where we were . The initial instructions to get a tram confused us slightly as the AMS suites is only really a 20 min walk from central station and so if you have a small pully bag and not loads of luggage then it would be no problem to walk and easier to find than from the tram stop. The room was lovely and clean and a very comfortable bed. I did mention that it was my birthday and had a birthday card and a bottle of sparkly awaiting me on arrival..which was a very nice touch.The hotel is in a residential area and very pretty and quiet end enjoyed the slow walk through the streets on the way home. It has a keyless entry system which worked perfectly. Overall I would highly reccommend this hotel .

From the outside you dont think much of the apartment building, the stairs up to the apartments are very steep - if you are tall i would suggest ducking whilst walkingup the stairs to stop yourself hitting your head....;When we opened the door to the apartment we were in shock (in a good way) the apartment was stunning - very spacious and modern. The bathroom was beautiful - very stylish.We had an enjoyable stay at the AMS suites and would definately return if we came back to Amsterdam.We recieved the security code prior to our arrival along with directions from the Airport and also from the city centre which was most helpful

This 'suite' was really very beautiful and luxurious. The room was massive, with ceiling to floor windows. The bathroom was stunning and had a great rain shower, and huge bath tub with low lighting (very romantic). The room itself was fantastic and one of the best rooms ive had in Amsterdam (and Ive stayed in many hotels in Dam).The location was good, its 10 min walk to both Dam Sq or Leidsaplin (cant spell) and we found the place easily (although there is no door number...).I did email the team saying that the stay was for my partners birthday, so if they could do anything to make it a special stay would be greatly appreciated. They did nothing and made no extra efforts...When we arrived and walked up the stairs we did think it was going to be terrible, as the stairs are typically Dutch (narrow and steep), but the stairs/hallway was also poorly decorated, very run-down, dark, and not very nice at all. However as soon as you step into the the suite (at the very top of the building) it is another world and beautiful.Only other critisim is that the coffee machine was provided with coffee capsules, however no milk at all so couldnt have a cup of tea of coffee. There was also no welcome letter or instructions as to where the aircon control was etc. Also, the room was advertised as bed and breakfast (included), however when I got my confirmation email from AMS was told that there is no breakfast for guests on Sunday (when we was there).I would def stay again, but would also contact the team first to make sure there is milk, instructions, possibly some local info for guests, (essential details) etc.

Booking information was clear. Great location, quiet and modern. Easy walking distance from most attractions and bus station. Large, comfortable bed.
