This apartment is located within the World Heritage Protected Central Canal Belt, an area defined by stunning waterways, tree lined streets and amazing architecture. These canals were dug during the Dutch Golden Age and the buildings constructed here at the time reflect the wealth of the merchants who owned them. Today you will find bars, cafes, restaurants and boutiques in these buildings. Walking the canals is an amazing experience in itself and some of the Canal Houses, including the Museum Van Loom, are open to the public and should be visited. The Amstel River is just one block away and here you can find an array of stunning buildings including the Carre Theatre, as well and numerous bars and restaurants to enjoy a water side beer on a warm summers day. The Utrechtsestraat, one of the best shopping and dining streets in Amsterdam is just a short distance from the apartment too. Dam Square is within walking distance and is home to the stunning Royal Palace, Madame Tussauds, The New Church and De Bijenkorf department store.
