Amstel Botel Hotel Amsterdam LocationAmstel Botel Hotel Amsterdam Location (Map)

The hotel's new home is the former NDSM-shipyard in Amsterdam North, not far from Amsterdam Central Station. At this colourful and vital dockside area you can find workshops and artists' studios, hip cafes and restaurants, exhibitions and performances, MTV, Robodock, and the IJ-festival.

At the hotel's new location there is free public parking for cars as well as for busses. This location is just a 5-minute drive from the Amsterdam Ring road A10 and has connections with the city centre by free ferry and free shuttle service (at night).

How to reach the Amstel Botel Hotel? How to reach the Amstel Botel Hotel?

By public transport: You can reach the hotel from the back (north side) of Amsterdam Central Station. Over there you can take a free ferry (NDSM werf) that will take you to the Amstel Botel in approximately 10 minutes. At night and early morning, when the ferry is not running, the hotel has their own free shuttle bus at night, clearly marked, that will take you to and from the Amstel Botel.

By car: On the ringroad A10, take exit S118 direction ”Tuindorp-Oostzaan”. At the crossing turn left and at the traffic lights turn right on the ”Molenaarsweg”. The “Molenaarsweg” will continue into the “Cornelis Douwesweg”. You will pass 2 roundabouts and at the traffic lights you go straight ahead on the “Klaprozenweg”. Now take the first street on your right, the “van Riemsdijkweg”. From here, continue straight ahead in the direction of the water to the “NDSM-Pier” where the hotel is located.

On arival the room alocated was very dirty and smelled musty although another room was provided the facilities are very basic. the staff were quite helpfull but did not go the extra mile? the situation is good although not as close to the amstredam centre as was thought.(this was pleasentley accepted as being a positive). because of the situation of the botel ther are limited facilities/chioces on dining out local to the botel.

Miss leading info as to the new position 15 min ferry ride each way , so you waste a lot of time every day wait for or riding on ferry, and the discription of the hotel area very bad , nothing there but 1 bar come eatery, it`s a industrial site realy, very open to winds, and rain

We enjoyed this very different experience for us - lovely view from our hotel window of the boats going to and fro. excellent breakfast again with very interesting views of the river and the river traffic! we were a bit hesitant because of some of the reviews we read - but we found it refreshingly good! the free ferry service was excellent cant think why we dont do more free public transport in england.
Getting to the ferry was relatively simple once you knew it was at the back of the amsterdam train station but there were a few ferry stops and it took us a while to suss which stop was the one we should use. better signage would be an improvement. having said that we got there and we speak little dutch!

The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast which was provided had a good selection of foods/drinks, of which you could eat all you liked. there is also a bar situated onboard which was really convenient as the town was a 15 minute ferry trip away. the rooms were basic but comfortable and warm.
The one night of our stay was extremely interupted by a group of 3 young lads who were staying in the room next to ours, they came back to the botel at 3:51am and continued their night out there. they were shouting, laughing, bumping around in their room, they were ringing up other people's room and hanging up when answered, ours included! then at 5:10am the same morning there was what sounded like a herd of elephant's running up and down the corridor right outside our door. the reception were made aware and the nonsense ceased. however, despite the annoyance we were moved the following day and had a lovely night stay after that.

The hotel is always clean and very warm. breakfast is good.
It's a shame it moved across the other side of the water as it is not as accessible to the centre now, although the ferries are regular.
