Lovely location, helpful staffOur canal view room at the front was charming, but, amsterdammers are out and noisy until 5am. next time i would forego the canal view for a good night's sleep!wilson

Fabulous view over the canal from our room.room was spacious and comfortable.we liked having the little table and chairs where we could sit and absorb the atmosphere of amsterdam, watch the cyclists and enjoy a glass of wine.location was perfect as the neighbourhood was attractive and it was within easy walking distance of all the sights.The only drawback for some might be the steep stairs to bedroom and no lift. it didn't bother us but it could be a problem for the less fit!Anonymous

Great location. ample breakfast in nice breakfast room where you can gawp at the cyclists. affable dog.Fierce keys policy - 20 euros deposit (ok) but a threatened 85 euros if you lost them (nearly 30 euros per key)- so what's the deposit for?.
i booked a room on your site because it was declared available but was afterwards sent a message by the hotel to say it was not after all available ("refurbishment"). they said another was available, however, and i took it. it turned out they were charging me basic rack rate for it (an extremely small single) and not the special rate your site offered for the original room.Matear

Very friendly staff. asked for a quiet room, which is what we got. rooms were very clean and we had a cleaner in every morning to replace towels, empty bins, etc. continental breakfast was very good.The hotel was a wee bit out of the centre of amsterdam, but still within walking distance. however, the area we were in was quiet and very clean. it was nice to see a different part of the city and the shopping was excellent. highly recommended!Gingrich

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the wiechmann hotel. the room was compact but very clean and comfortable. the hotel provides free wireless for internet junkies, and the desk staff were friendly and helpful. a number of pubs and cafes were close by and leidseplein (entertainment district) was a 15min walk away. The hotel is about 4 blocks from the nearest tram stop so prepare for a 10min walk to reach public transport. also there is no lift so you may need to carry your luggage up to four flights up sweep, winding stairs. i'd suggest you pack light! apart for that, wiechmann is an excellent hotel for singles or couples. Very homely. i liked the old atmosphere and look of the hotel. good view with the little balcony. easy to find way around.The only negative would be it was extremely difficult to manouver suitcases up the three flights of stairs...although it added to its character..you need to have strong arms and a fit heart.Anonymous

Our stay at the wiechmann hotel enriched our visit to amsterdam.everything was professionally attended to, and as requested.it's position on the prinsengracht, meant that we could walk everywhere, and find shops, restauants, and museums close by.our room was lovely, beds comfortable, bathroom excellent, outlook over the canals very special, everywhere clean and tidy.
the easytobook discount brought this hotel into our price range.no extra's to pay for.Anonymous
