 "Nice hotel close to everything"
Hotel is very lovely in old Amsterdam house with canal view. Close to everything sights, shopping, night life. Is good value for money if you look for just to sleep and nothing fancy. Room was small but clean everything I needed. Breakfast was included which was nice and good. Lovely breakfast room with canal view. You need to be in good condition to walk up the steep stairs no elevator. But in overall much better what I expected. Recommend.

 "Great value for money"
Hotel Wiechmann is a cracking little hotel in one of the best areas of Amsterdam. It was quiet and in a great location for tourist attractions. My only complaint would be the incredibly lumpy pillow and blankets instead of quilts on the beds - just not the most comfortable nights sleep.

 "Charming Hotel"
The hotel was charming, clean, comfortable and full of old world atmosphere. The service was great-people were friendly and helpful. I loved the location-right on the canal with a beautiful view of the canal and old houses. My room was a bit small and simple, but I had asked for a single room. I hope to return soon!

 "Early spring in Amsterdam"
The Wiechmann Hotel is superbly placed for a week's break in Amsterdam. The main museums are only a short walk away - as is the central station - so getting around is easy from this base. The local restaurants provide an excellent variety of meals - and very good beers. I shall definitely be booking a return visit.

 "Nearly perfect!!"
Everyone in Amsterdam who heard I was staying at the Wiechmann commented on what a great place it was! I couldn't agree more. Central location, wonderful people (especially Natta & Bart Jan, who went out of their way to help in every way), delicious breakfast. The room was exactly right with everything I could need. The cleaning staff did a beautiful job. A wonderful surprise was that they even have a computer room with 2 computers for guest use! Taz the dog is a gentle giant; when I arrived I put my hand out for her to smell and she licked it! I've seen many complaints about the stairway; well, if you stay in Amsterdam you will have a narrow spiral stairway nearly wherever you stay! These are old buildings, probably historic locations, and there's nothing the hotel owners can do about it. The staff will carry your bags up and down for you and there are railings on both sides of the stairs. I had no problems with them.My ONLY complaint, which is more of a suggestion than a complaint, is that I feel there should be a way to purchase a sandwich or snack of some kind in the evening. There is coffee, tea, cocoa and liquor (hot drinks free) available from noon until the next a.m., which is great, but there were some days I was just too exhausted to go out again for dinner, so this would be a nice addition. The staff is multilingual; whatever language you speak they do too. The shuttle to and from the airport is an easy, convenient and inexpensive way for coming and going. John, a grandson of the hotel founder, and will be sure your stay is perfect. STAY THERE! You won't regret it.

 "Wiechmann Hotel"
We all really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It gave us an insight into what houses are like in Amsterdam with their narrow steep stairs and warren like rooms. The room was an excellent size for all four of us; lots of room to lounge and prepare for the next outing. Our seven year old son loved watching tv in the lounge area even though he cannot speak Dutch but we suspect the little Easter eggs were the big draw! The breakfast was added to by the amazing sight of cyclists of all ages, passing by on their way to work or play! Service was very good and pleasant. The location of the hotel is great as it was well placed for walking to any of the major attractions that the city has to offer. There are many great cafes and restaurants located nearby, we enjoyed wonderful meals everyday.

 "Great stay!"
I stayed four nights at Hotel Wiechmann, a mixture of business and pleasure. The location is perfect, staff very friendly, rooms quiet and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great to have free Wifi throughout.

 "Lovely hotel for our anniversary"
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in March for our 29th wedding anniversary. Hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of town, within easy walking distance of sights of Amsterdam. The view of the canal from our window was wonderful. Room was comfortable , the breakfast was just right. Top marks! Would highly recommend.

"Excellent Hotel, will be coming back"
What won me over with this hotel was the wonderful staff, who made me feel welcome from the very beginning. The hotel is set on a canal in a lovely part of Amsterdam, a place where you can turn one way and walk to the attractions and the other way to avoid tourists. My room wasn't fitted with a fridge or kettle, but the building is historic with 1930s furniture, very comfy bed (big enough for my 6'4 partner) and amazing shower. There is a beautiful resident dog and breakfast is in a gorgeous light filled room filled with antiques and served till 11.

 "Gem of a hotel"
Great little hotel, quaint with lots of amazing antiques, modern plumbing, and comfy beds. The owners/staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Excellent location, right on a canal and walking distance to everywhere. Highly recommend and would come back in a heartbeat.

 "Great location"
Location is great with great view of the canal from our balcony, this was the highlight of the hotel. Not too keen on having to carry our luggage up three flights of very steep stairs though, as there is no elevator. Breakfast basic, but nice enough. Staff all very helpful. Guests provided with a key to room and reception to enter/exit when they wish. Room basic and small, and a modernisation of decor and beds wouldn't hurt. Loved the location!

 "Good value hotel"
This is a very reasonably priced, mid-budget hotel in a great location (walkable everywhere) which is very quiet. The decor is a bit tired but it was perfectly comfortable. Definitely recommended for a comfortable stay in Amsterdam.

 "Love the Wiechmann!!"
We don't like to stay in big chain hotels, so this was a perfect choice for us. I believe we were on the most interesting canal, the staff (including the dog Taz) is very helpful and friendly, and the hotel has a lot of character. Fortunetly, we travel light, as the stairs would be a problem for anyone with very heavy luggage or if you are not able to climb them due to bad knees or hips. If we could have stayed a couple of more days, we would be in great shape (we were on the 3rd floor). We arrived in the very early a.m., and would say that unless you know exactly where you are going, take a taxi from the airport. We took the tram to the stop we were told to take, but had no idea of where to go from there. At that hour, there aren't taxi's just driving around and shops weren't open to ask anyone. We probably walked around 1/2 hour before finding it. We were lucky and John had a great room available for us to check in right away.

 "Stay at Weichmann Hotel"
This hotel is well located, in easy enough reach of transport, the centre, restaurants and museums and galleries. Despite the location, it was not noisy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. But be prepared to climb steep stairs to access most of the rooms. We had good views from our room. The standard of cleanliness was high and the heating and hot water more than adequate. My only quibble was with the breakfast - a basic selection - but one which remained unaltered for the 5 occasions we ate there. We found good coffee and patisserie locally, so were able to compensate.

 "weekend break"
Very nice quaint hotel with lots of attractive features. Communal areas like lounge and breakfast room very comfortable. Hotel does not have a lift and our room was on the fourth floor, lots of stairs. We knew this before we booked and were fine with this, but would not suit everybody. Booked two rooms one was quite small but adequate and the other was larger and much nicer, table and armchairs, pictures on the wall etc. This did not spoil our stay but it is obviously pot luck which room you get. Buffet breakfast, meat, cheeses, cereals fruit etc. Very good. Would recommend The Wiechman Hotel for an enjoyable stay in Amsterdam.

 "Good location, quality quite average..."
We had two rooms, one with "Grachten View", which was nice but not very clean, and VERY noisy at night. The thin glas of the very old windows let in noise and coldness from the street. Second room was in the fourth floor, and it was more youth-hostel-standard: Very small and poorly equipped, not worth the money. Breakfast was ... how to say ... minimalistic. No rolls, just toast, some marmelade, cheese and ham. However, the location is quite perfect, you can reach everything in the city by walking.

"Excellent Location and more than adequate in every way."
A very good location with canal views from our bedroom and the breakfast room. The room was very adequate, maybe the shower could do with upgrading, but it did the job. and most importantly the beds were comfy . The breakfast was beyond expectations for a tourist hotel with good quality coffee and orange juice and plenty of fresh, simple food. A very friendly lady ran the breakfast room very efficiently with clean tables and food supplies replenished regularly. We would recommend this hotel to visitors wanting good value for money and a hotel with character.

 "charming hotel"
Laid out as 19 century house, lovely atmosphere, splendid and always helpful service :) Location is superb, just up the road is Anne Frank Museum and Dam square is an easy 15 minute amble along with tram stops and plenty of shops. Rooms are adequate, you will get larger size in a 4* modern hotel but without the charm and at extra cost.Don't forget to indulge Taz with kind words and strokes !Will definitely stay here again

 "Fabulous Stay"
A lovely hotel. Service very friendly including the very obliging dog who was happy to be petted by the children! Our room at the very top of the hotel was a great size for 4 of us. The stairs were a bit of a challenge with a suitcase but I'm sure I have very toned thighs now! The hotel was in an excellent location. If you can't walk to attractions you can easily hop on a canal boat to get there. It was lovely enjoying a leisurely breakfast watching the world cycle by each morning.
