Hotel Arena is located on the official border of the city centre (Canal: 'Mauritskade'), on the East side of Amsterdam. The heart of Amsterdam is just 5 tram stops or a 10-minute taxi ride away. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential part of the capital and within walking distance of Oosterpark, Artis Zoo, the Tropical institute and Carré theater. Hotel Arena is also within easy reach of the Amsterdam nightlife and entertainment, business, university and shopping areas, museums and sightseeing hotspots. From the airport, by car or by public transport, the hotel can be easily and quickly reached.
How to reach the Hotel Arena?By train, from Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM. From here, please follow the directions below.
By metro, from Amsterdam Central Station: You can take metro nr. 51, 53 and 54 from the square in front of the station to 'Weesperplein'. At the metro station, take exit 'Sarphatistraat' and then take the second street to the right (Korte's Gravesandestraat). Cross the Mauritskade and Hotel Arena is at your left hand side. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 9 minutes.
By tram, from Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram line 9 or 14 to 'Tropenmuseum'. The hotel is walking distance from these tram stops. The trams are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.
By bus, from Amsterdam Central Station: You can take bus line 22 to 'Tropenmuseum'. The hotel is in walking distance from this bus stop.

Hotel is really nice. rooms are great..we got a free upgrade..apparently. Arrived at check in to be told we must pay eur75 deposit. also, had to pay for breakfast...even though we had room only rate. they make you pay for it and you can be refunded when you check out. strange i thought. in the rooms there is no radio, but access to a few cds which costs eur3.00 per cd.
we paid for late check out but still were called at 7am 3 times by reception to wake us up.Munro

We stayed in a fresh new room. plenty of facilities available as well.I ended up walking the distance to the hotel from central station and it took forever, however that was not the hotel's fault at all. perhaps just put a comment that a tram or metro train is easy to reach the hotel.Anonymous

The arena hotel has been recently refurbished and now boasts a new (very flashy) wing with dual floor rooms.
i was very impressed with the staff, all very kind and helpful!
the hotel is situated about 15 minutes from the city centre (walk/cycle). perfect distance to get a good nights sleep away from the hustle and bustle.
the hotel has a club within the complex but it is completely seperate and should not put anyone off as even though it was open till 4am, we did not hear any of the action taking place!
food is good although a tad pricey, rooms are spacious and clean with very good facilities. we stayed in one of their so called 'loft rooms' in the new section and would highly reccommend these rooms to anyone looking for a good place to chill in the dam.
the loft rooms would be well suited to traveling couples!Anonymous
