"Very good position, nice area, needs remodelling"
I enjoyed the place was peacefull, had a tram no.4 passing and stoping just by the hotel. Old architecture od Amsterdam, NICE. The hotel Armada run by nice people, breakfasst was more then delicious and enough. But in rooms shood be add some more comfort, better beds, and somewhat in batrooms.

 "armada canal hotel"
The only good thing about this hotel is location. Room is very tiny, my blanket had a big hole in it. You should bring your own hair drier cause the one in the room was older than me for a couple of decades:-)

 "Very good location"
That was more or less what we were expecting by a two star hotel....The price for a 3 guest room is very expansive compared to many other cities but this is Amsterdam. The breakfast should be definetly improved!

 "Greta choice"
I found this on line and without having much info about Amsterdam, took a chance and was very pleasantly surprised. Convenient, with a tram stop almost right out the front door. Staff was very friendly and helpful, answering all our questions about directions etc. Our room overlooked the canal and we could watch the local activity right out the window, though we weren't in our room much more the just for the night! Close enough to the center without being in the middle of all the tourists and noise.

 "Very friendly"
All the staff were very friendly and the bathroom in my room was very clean. All in all good value for money although the rooms feel a little tired and the restaurant next door was a quite noisy with my room being at pavement level.

 "Terrible service"
Hotel was within close proximity to central station and the main attractions. Bad service. Hair dryer didn't work and room was hot as hell! They could t provide us with a fan or replace the hair dryer. I would recommend falcon plaza hotel. Only a few bobs extra, plus they have secured parking.

 "Great location"
Great location.Unfortunately, I was staying with a friend, and we got walked in on in our room 3 different times, there was no knock, once was earliesh in the morning and we were sleeping. And thne there was no apology! Not really good enough to just walk into a room without knocking.Breakfast was average and beds were average. But it was a great location and we could walk everywhere we wanted to go.

 "Comfortable and charming"
We had a one night stay before a cruise. Location was charming,a wide easy to use stair case, over looking a canal with a spacious room with private facilities. Breakfast was good. The location was excellent with tram access to the station. This was our second hotel in Amsterdam and I was so impressed after my first stay where I encountered a bed bug. Unfortunately I awoke during the night scratching and after a careful search of the pristine white clean sheets I found some crawling insects that had bitten me. Not sure what they were but not bed bugs. A strict vacumning and spraying routine is important to keep the kreepy crawlies under control.

 "Been to better "Hostels""
Very small room, extremely hot. Window could not be open fully to ventilate the room. In fact, you had to use a piece of wood nailed to the windowsill to wedge it open, and only about 3 inches!!. I also found bed bugs, and my "do not disturb" sign was ignored twice. Where I come from, this hotel could have been shut down if these issues were not addressed inmediatley. Front desk staff very rarely at the desk, had to go and find them (most of the time) smoking outside. When I pointed out my tv had no remote control, he smiled and said "I don't know where they are, so you will have to use your finger..." The only positive was its location, 5 min from Rembrandtplein, although next door to a coffee shop (smell and noise until very late...)

 "Armada Revew"
Me and four mates stayed at the armada for a four day Amsterdam party, the hotel its self is in a good place near rembrant square and the Ajax experiance (which was amazing) The sevice was okay, freindly staff and they always helped with dierections ect. The hotel is a dump, the rooms are perfect for a short stay if you can live with the smell from the drains and a fuzzy TV. Breakfast is a joke it literally is cold toast, bread buns, ham chesse butter and jam. overall shabby hotel but if your a mans man none of this should bother you and its an okay stay.

 "Very good budget hotel"
My wife and I stayed at the Armada Hotel for a period of 5 days, over all it was a pleasant experience. We spent the first two day in a 3rd flour room, which was tiny but clean and had everything that you would need to spend a pleasant night . The only problem was that it didn't have any heating, and though we stayed there in July, it was still quite cold (+7c). After mentioning that the heating was not working to the staff, we were moved to a bigger and better room in an adjacent building. The room was very nice, the heating was working properly, it had a nice bathroom with a bath, and a view to the internal garden. Pros: - Very centric (5 minutes walking distance to rembrandtplein)- Clean- Helpful staff- breakfast- quietCons:- Furniture a little dated- Elevator is broken (bummer if you have to carry your luggage to the third floor)

 "very good location"
there's 2 parts to the hotel and we were given the room in the newer wing. my room was large but find it a bit cold. it was quiet and clean. The building is infront of a canal. Nice surrouding was beautiful and easy access to shops and food. location is very good as its within walking distance to main tourist sites and Metro. Staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely come back again.

 "Clean 1 star hotel"
The hotel is perfectly located for going out but it is overall a relatively high priced one star hotel. The rooms are clean, however very small (40 cm around the bed), lift was not working, shower had almost no water, since the leakage did not really work one was flooding the bathroom. Breakfast is lowest standard, personnel is not very friendly. Free w-lan in the lobby one can use also the w-lan from a bar nearby.

 "Budget hotel"
Overall, a nice hotel for the price; although you could probably find something better at same price. The rooms were generally clean, which is the most important thing to me, and the stuff seemed polite and helpful. Other than that, the breakfast bouffet is not varied and in my room there were no soap and shampoo in the toilet. However, I did not stay much in my room, so I did not care much. Also, the wifi connection was great in my room. I think you can smoke in the room if you ask for a smoking room at the reception. Overall, I recommend this for those seeking a budget hotel and do not care for luxuries.

 "not ever again"
The location wise is very good easy to explore the city only about 20 minutes from the central station, staff some are ok, room full of dust even had to buy a cleaning spray and glaves to clean the dust can do with updating as well, breakfast not so much of choices only bread and jam, In one occation I need of hoter water they chaged me 1 euro for a small cup payed at reception desk the most expensive hot water I ever bought, my God they have the nerve to charge that much to my opinion this is a not accepteble, never stay in the hotel ever again. not value for the many (overvalued by far.

"Nice stay with some critics (see below)"
As there was street construction in front of the hotel, it was pretty loud from 07 h in the morning; it would be good to inform about such matters while/before booking!!Inside the house the sound-isolation is only low what made sleeping interrupt several times. For ontbijt would be nice to offer also some black or dark bread.

 "Basic hotel, good location"
The Armada is in a fairly central location overlooking Keizersgracht canal fairly close to Rembrantplein so it was a short walk or tram ride to most of the main tourist locations. The hotel itself although clean was in desperate need of updating, the twin room we stayed in was very basic, small TV, no safe and the bathroom began to flood if the shower was on for more than a couple of minutes. And like most things in Amsterdam the room was very overpriced for what it was.Not the worst hotel I've stayed in but could be alot better.

 "Value for money"
the location is very good.. in the city centre, decent breakfast and there is a very good cheese shop round the corner.the bed are not good at all and if you have backache, you might not be very comfortableoverall, it's a good place and if you're flexible you may find it an OK place to stay for couple of days.
