there's 2 parts to the hotel and we were given the room in the newer wing. my room was large but find it a bit cold. it was quiet and clean. The building is infront of a canal. Nice surrouding was beautiful and easy access to shops and food. location is very good as its within walking distance to main tourist sites and Metro. Staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely come back again.

The hotel is perfectly located for going out but it is overall a relatively high priced one star hotel. The rooms are clean, however very small (40 cm around the bed), lift was not working, shower had almost no water, since the leakage did not really work one was flooding the bathroom. Breakfast is lowest standard, personnel is not very friendly. Free w-lan in the lobby one can use also the w-lan from a bar nearby.

Overall, a nice hotel for the price; although you could probably find something better at same price. The rooms were generally clean, which is the most important thing to me, and the stuff seemed polite and helpful. Other than that, the breakfast bouffet is not varied and in my room there were no soap and shampoo in the toilet. However, I did not stay much in my room, so I did not care much. Also, the wifi connection was great in my room. I think you can smoke in the room if you ask for a smoking room at the reception. Overall, I recommend this for those seeking a budget hotel and do not care for luxuries.

The location wise is very good easy to explore the city only about 20 minutes from the central station, staff some are ok, room full of dust even had to buy a cleaning spray and glaves to clean the dust can do with updating as well, breakfast not so much of choices only bread and jam, In one occation I need of hoter water they chaged me 1 euro for a small cup payed at reception desk the most expensive hot water I ever bought, my God they have the nerve to charge that much to my opinion this is a not accepteble, never stay in the hotel ever again. not value for the many (overvalued by far.

As there was street construction in front of the hotel, it was pretty loud from 07 h in the morning; it would be good to inform about such matters while/before booking!!Inside the house the sound-isolation is only low what made sleeping interrupt several times.For ontbijt would be nice to offer also some black or dark bread.

The Armada is in a fairly central location overlooking Keizersgracht canal fairly close to Rembrantplein so it was a short walk or tram ride to most of the main tourist locations. The hotel itself although clean was in desperate need of updating, the twin room we stayed in was very basic, small TV, no safe and the bathroom began to flood if the shower was on for more than a couple of minutes. And like most things in Amsterdam the room was very overpriced for what it was.Not the worst hotel I've stayed in but could be alot better.

the location is very good.. in the city centre, decent breakfast and there is a very good cheese shop round the corner.the bed are not good at all and if you have backache, you might not be very comfortableoverall, it's a good place and if you're flexible you may find it an OK place to stay for couple of days.

Pros: Great location. hotel staff are helpful. good for traveling students and tourists with relatively limited budget.
Cons: Rooms are small. pillows are of cheap quality and uncomfortable. the elevator is one scary thing; you'd have to press on the floor number till you reach, otherwise it would stop until you press the floor number again.

Pros: Hotel was in a good location for exploring
Cons: Toilet was broken in room and was not repaired during entire stay. staff had a "could not care less attitude" and were very unhelpful. choice of food at breakfast was awful.
