The Belfort Hotel Amsterdam is a reasonably priced 3-star hotel on the edge of Amsterdam’s city centre. Situated between the 'Rembrandtpark' and the 'Vondelpark', the hotel can be found in a quiet but typically Amsterdam neighbourhood. A pleasant walk to the opposite side of the 'Vondelpark' will bring you to the heart of Amsterdam, close to the 'Leidseplein' and the 'Museumplein'.
By car the city centre can be reached in five minutes and the tram will take you there in ten minutes. The hotel is also close to the ring road around the city, so that the business centres to the south of the A10 motorway can easily be reached.
How to reach the Belfort hotel?1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: From Amsterdam Central Station take tram no. 1 (Direction Osdorp De Aker) and get off at "Surinameplein". Tram stop "Surinameplein" is in front of the hotel. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

Public transport (tram) just outside. this made it easy to get to the city centre. breakfast was good and convienient. free tv.Very small room, fairly noisy, curtains didnt cover the entire window, mattress and pillow was uncomfortable, place looked quite rundown but fair for the price.Anonymous

The breakfast was quite good and the reception staff took action when we complained about our mattress and changed it for us. easy transport to town and to olympic stadium (for the marathon).The mattress on our bed had hard metal springs actually poking out through the mattress. it was the most uncomfortable night we have ever had. we turned the mattress around ourselves but it was no better. when we complained, they changed the mattress. the second mattress had springs poking through too, but it was much better than the first one. there was quite a bit of noise from other rooms and the street. there was hair on the bathroom floor and our shower had a leak which meant water went everywhere. we had to continually ask for more towels to mop up. our bathroom also stank of a sewerage smell. overall, not a great place to stay and very expensive accommodationBrazzale

We knew when we got the price we did for 4 people (pretty low) that it would be fairly low class. it was.... curtains ripped, minimal furnishings. it was clean though.Anonymous

All staff were frindly & helpful except blond lady at breakfast on fri.9th who was very rude. The triple room booked was not as shown on website. it had 1 bed & bunk bed, most unsuitable for adults. photo showed 3 single beds.also room dark & smelly. i changed rooms!!Jason Whitham

Location is near the centre, and by tram the centre is easy get to.We stayed in a room in the basement and in the bathroom we could not hang the showerhead, so we could not shower very well. Anonymous

It is convenient that a tram stop is just outside the door! the breakfast is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!My room and all the bedding smelled like cigarette smoke. the hotel is a no smoking area, but our neighbour smoked, so it travelled into our room. this was really unpleasant because we are non smokers and had to keep the window open during the night to breathe! the duvet covers did not botton up nicely (i think it was torn), so the inner kept comming out. if our neighbour was more considerite and kept his tv down during the night we would have had a better experience. maybe there could be rules regarding noisy neighbours or a notice to tell guests were to complain.Anonymous
