The staff was lovely, the room was small but clean and very nice. i loved that the breakfast tray was brought to me in my room. nice little details were taken care of, like a hair dryer that could be brought to my room. it was very quiet, and i felt cozy, safe, and relaxed there. the shower room upstairs was well-done with locked stalls and plenty of room inside.
Not really.. i'd read that they've had trouble with mice in other reviews, but the hotel provided locking plastic bins in which to store any food i'd brought. a nice touch to deal with a problem that i suspect is inevitable in a building of that age. the hotel is up two very steep flights of stairs, which was fine for me, but a challenge with luggage of which to be aware.

It was a great experience. i felt like i'm in brooklyn or bronx.
The breakfast is served in the room and the staff brings them between 8.30 an 9.00 and you must wait for them. also it disturbs you. but otherwise it was quite fine!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. they had moved me from the third to the second floor because i had said i would have difficulties with lots of steps. they had a good variety of tea and provided a vegetarian breakfast. i did enjoy having breakfast delivered to my room!
The stairs are very, very steep! i have mopbility problems and i found them difficult.

The hotel is very easy to locate with tran stop just outside the frount door & a supermarket just a short walk down the road. the room was small but very clean. nice staff and a good breakfast. free internet access.
Stairs are very steep, but this is what you expect in amsterday, its part of the charm.

Tram and buses across the street. museums visible from room.
At 8:30 am breakfast is brought to your room. coffee and toast cools and unlike most breakfasts do not have time choices between 8am and 10am in a common eating room.

I liked very much the idea of a "home" in amsterdam and because of this "like staying at a friend's house" feeling i even liked the on the floor bathroom and facilities.
I don't understand why they don't invest a little amount of money in redesigning the rooms(some new painting, some cheap but new furniture, some colour coordonation)-not expansive but wonder making changes.

Nice hotel, exactly what we were after considering the fluctuated prices elsewhere in amsterdam. would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good deal.
About a 30-40 min walk to centre, although we found this to be a positive as we liked walking throughout the trip and saw more of the city, only a 5min tram away also.

Loved the location and the fact that four of us could stay together.
We did have a mouse in our room but kind of our fault--we didn't know that we had to put our food in a tight container (which they provided) because we never even thought about mice--apparently that's a probem in general in amsterdam.
