Next to the hotel there is a shopping centre and a daily market. Within walking distance from the hotel there is a swimming pool and the 'Sloterplas' lake, where you can hire waterbikes and canoes and where you can exercise or relax. The business park at Sloterdijk is also located nearby.
Close to the hotel you will find good public transportation links that will take you into the centre within only 15 minutes. By tram you can easily reach the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh or National Museum, or for nightlife the Leidse Square or Rembrandt Square.
How to reach the Best Western Blue Square Hotel?1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).
By taxi: You can also take a taxi from Schiphol Airport which costs about € 35.00 to € 40.00 and the journey takes about 20 minutes.
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: From the station you can take bus nr. 21 to the 'Slotermeerlaan'. From there the hotel is 100 meters away. Costs are € 6.00 and the journey takes about 45 minutes.

Room was pleasant, and large. parking was reasonably priced. had a fantastic rate with easytobook.com. 
Staff professionalism was inconsistent. room had burnt-out light bulbs, handles missing from closet, etc. hotel parking was very unclear and hard to find without instruction. truly ugly building from the outside, we were nervous about what our room would look like, but it was fine. elevator to parking was broken on our check-out. etc., etc. i'd stay somewhere else next time.Bland

The labby was very crowded and noisy so i expected the hotel to be the same but to my surpise our room was very nice, clean and quiet. the staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The lobby seemed to be a bit dirty and with the smokers just outside the front door it gave a very negative first impression.Ransom
