The staff was friendly but the steps to floor. 2 were terreble and the bed was very unconfortable. In a walking distance from city center and therfore well placed.

"stay"
nice hotel just dont sleep out front-noisy all night road. cant smoke inside either. butcomfy and accomadating. Breakfast is crap though-just bread a boiled egg and cold coffee. The older woman don't like any complaints about your breakfast even if the coffee is served freezing.

"Great location, but that's about it!"
Myself and 3 friends stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we had 4 single beds in the room which were laid out in a dormitory fashion. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and mine creaked incessantly! The pillows were incredibly flat and also uncomfortable. When we asked reception if we could have more pillows the man at the desk rudely told me 'No!' and that was all. In addition to the bathroom being TINY, the shower cubicle's door was broken, cracked and didn't close properly. They replaced towels daily, and made our beds, but no new bedsheets. They also did not hoover the room or clean it beyond that. This hotel provides the bare minimum and whilst I didn't expect much as it was incredibly cheap, having a broken lampshade and a broken shower cubicle was frustrating and disappointing to say the least.

"DON'T STAY THERE!!"
Our room was literally the size of a bed. There was no place to put clothes, neither to sit. The bed was covered with sheets and a stained blanket and it smelled with cigarettes. The radiator was lying on the floor (not hanging on the wall) and making a loud trembling noise when on. We tried different settings, but it;s been waking us up. Shower was leaking. On the second day we discovered a spider nest under the bed. Breakfast is a joke - we got two eggs and some toasts and old cheese (old as in dry on the edges). All this for 100EUR per night. Definitely NOT recommend!

"watch out!!!"
booked and paid well in advance, went to book in and was told there are no rooms!! they had booked our rooms out, the receptionist did eventually find us somewhere else to stay but the manager wouldn't pay all of the difference, so we ended up paying half the difference just so we could get somewhere to stay. No apologies from the manager at all. Pleased we did go elsewhere cause it was an excellent hotel. (City Central Hotel)

"yuk!"
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were ok & the hotel was in a good location, However it was flithy! It looked clean & basic from the out side, but then we were given the keys to the hotel room. It was an attic room on the top floor, that smelt of stale smoke & the bathroom smelt of drains, there was even air freshner provided in the room! It was horrible to sleep in as it felt like you were breathing in dirty air. There were stains all over the carpets & the sheets did not even cover the bed properly. I could not wait to get out of the room into the fresh air. Even after a shower, you did not feel 100% clean.

Pros: This was a very reasonably priced hotel, near the station and amsterdam's night-life. it wasn't spectacular, but well worth the money. if was comfortable and felt safe. for the price i was very happy.
Cons: There was a rather strange odour when entering our room, i told the receptionist and it had dispersed by the time we arrived back.

"Good location but not right in middle of all the pubs so you can't sleep,..."
Pros: Good location but not right in middle of all the pubs so you can't sleep, just perfectly located i would say
Cons: Rooms are quite small and not the cleanest but nothing major to grumble about considering the price paid. our window had a big chunk missing off the bottom but the heating was on so wasn't cold or anything but didn't exactly look nice. also when cleaners came in they left window wide open which i wasn't happy about as there was like a balcony outside which led across to other rooms and also another building across the way so people could have easily got into our room through that window

"The staff is really nice"
Pros: The staff is really nice. the rooms are great for the price you're paying. it's pretty near red light district, but amsterdam is a really small town, so, location will almost always be good. the breakfast is pretty good as well. and less than 1km from centraal station. very good!
Cons: I guess the only thing that was kinda bad was our "locker", he was broken.. but we stayed for a night, so we didn't unpack at all... it's a pretty good hotel.
