Concertgebouw Amsterdam

The Concertgebouw is one of the greatest concert halls in the entire world. Because of its nearly perfect acoustic attributes, the concert hall has been ranked amongst the top three auditoriums in the entire world. Some even make the claim that the concert hall is actually acoustically perfect. Taking in around eight hundred concerts per year, the Concertgebouw is one of the most visited concert halls in the world. This places Concertgebouw as the center of classical music in Amsterdam and even in most of Europe! Apart from the main building which houses a majority of the concerts, there is an opulent garden which is designed and intended for open-air concerts. Years ago, Amsterdam had to reroute a tramline that traveled behind the garden because the noise interfered with the concerts! The Concertgebouw concert hall is also home to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. This orchestra has also been praised as one of the finest in the world. For music lovers, the Concertgebouw is a must see! Unfortunately for those who are only interested in its architectural attributes, there are no tours offered for the building. For those visitors who would like to visit this grand hall, a concert ticket must be purchased.
