The Jordaan is filled with charming cafes, boutique clothing stores, cool bars and exciting restaurants and simply walking the streets and taking in the atmosphere is something everyone should while in Amsterdam. After a few hours exploring the area, why not relax at one of the many cafes and enjoy a slice of traditional Dutch apple cake. Cafe Papeneiland arguably has the finest in the city, although there are numerous places you can sample this local dish. The historic UNESCO World Heritage Protected Central Canal Belt is one of the most picturesque parts of the city. Amsterdam is best viewed from the water and with the canals right on your doorstep, there is no excuse not to hire a boat or take a cruise.
