Founders A.W. Dikker and Henri Thijs started inhabiting this building in 1921 as a shop selling lobsters, oysters and caviar. It was renovated in 2001, together with the adjacent 18th century warehouse, and now houses the Dikker and Thijs Fenice Hotel in Amsterdam.
