 "Amsterdam City Visit"
Quite a good hotel ,but a bit to expensive for the area . Breakfast is extra and not great quality.I would recommend taking breakfast outside ,But afraid we could not find one close by. There is a tram stop close by unfortunately only tram Number one was available to take you to the central station area.

 "Excellent location"
Excellent location, just around the corner from everything you need. Checkin / out was great. Very nice to have free tea and coffee for our stay. The hotel has no A/C just a fan in the room and August was very hot. Breakfast seemed expensive but on par with all the other hotels.

 "Value for money"
Location is good. Free Wi-Fi. Luggage storage facility. Cleanliness of room is fine. Free coffee and tea provided. Lifts to room is secured by access card. Customer service is good and friendly. Provided my friend free printing of ticket because she had forgotten to do so. Except for one male staff dutied at night who is unfriendly. He scolded my friend who called the hotel at 1am but the call was urgent. He also scolded my friend who was making handphone call at the lobby at 2am because I was asleep in the room and she didn't want to disrupt my sleep.

 "not very good"
We had booked 2 rooms but were told when we got there that there were no rooms left and we had to share 1 room instead. (due to a football match). This after we had reserved the rooms a couple of months ago! They offered 40 euros refund (we paid 167 euros )and free breakfast which we felt we had to accept as we had no choice. Don't think we will be using them again.

 "Overpriced but OK location"
I thought this hotel was seriously overpriced for what it offers. Plenty of cheaper and better hotels in Amsterdam. I won't stay here again. Zero facilities. No kettle anywhere. A single coffee machine to service the whole hotel which gets switched off at night and turned back on at 7am. If you have an early start, you can't even get a hot drink and there is nowhere local to get one. Even for breakfast, you don't get fresh tea and coffee with your 12 Euro buffet- you have to queue up at the same machine. All the 'hot' breakfast food is virtually cold. Toiletries in bathroom consist of a wall mounted soap dispenser (mine was broken). Glass in the bathroom was plastic and cracked and not replaced during my entire stay. A couple of the staff were ok but some were not. No soundproofing between rooms so hard to sleep on a noisy night. Rooms are small and cramped but clean enough. Ok location, about 10 mins walk to restaurants and cafes and 20-30 mins to Central Station.

 "Good service, tiny rooms"
Curtains were dusty a bit, and a room itself was as small as the bathroom, nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay as well as free coffee in the lobby. Entrance to the hotel at night (after 00:00) is limited - you'll only be able to get in if you remember your room number and first/last name, - which is good in safety reasons. Our friends' room, which was on the 2nd floor, had a sloping floor. Staff is friendly and the room was clean, towels were changed daily. The hotel is within 10-15 minutes walk to "I amsterdam" letters. There are also tram stations nearby (within walking distance), which will take you to the Central Station within 15-20 minutes.

"Tidy Hotel - handy to Leidseplein"
Arrived at the station & an easy tram ride to Leidseplein, 2 minutes walk over the bridge & hotel over the road. Room was compact but tidy & serviced every day. Hotel offers breakfast (which we didn't have) but we took advantage of their free tea/coffee 24 hrs. Walls are very thin & heard the person next door vomiting for about an hour at 3am one morning...it is a city for indulging! Lots of choices for restaurants & drinks around Leidseplein - just down the road recommend the Coffee Company for coffee & B&B for a light bite. Hotel Hampshire was good value & suited us for our short stay.

 "Enough good"
The carpet was stained, looked bad. The free tea and coffee was fine in the lobby. After two days we had backache on the bed. Anyway, for this price it's worth the money, because of the location.

 "Pretty good - Great location"
This hotel is situated right by the busy Liedeplien square, which is really lively, it is about a 3 minute walk away so still far enough away to be quiet (although the road outside is pretty busy, didn't keep me awake, but could some). The square also has a main tram stop, where you can get a tram to pretty much all directions including the main square (Dam) and the central station. No restaurant in hotel (although they do do breakfast, we didn't have as plenty of places nearby). They have a reasonable priced bar, but the main problem with this is that it isn't manned at all times. Without shouting into the offices at the back it was impossible to get service, I waited at the bar 3 times on 3 different nights, but twice had to give up waiting, this was really disappointing. Rooms was a reasonable size. Carpets very dirty and dated, but everything else quite clean and tidy. Complaints from my girlfriend were that the hairdryer is in the bathroom (in the dressing table in a lot of hotels) and that the mirror isn't actually by the dressing table, so could not sit there to get ready. Free Coffee's (good selection from a machine, tasted nice) and hot water and tea bags was a nice touch. All in all, will most likely be staying here again, but would definitely say they need to update the carpets, tend to the slightly run down rooms (burn marks on table etc.) and man the bar! Also, one other thing, requested a double bed but actually got 2 singles pushed together with 2 single duvets, this was a little disappointing.

"Very small rooms ... But clean and very helpful staff"
We had a twin room but the room was so small you had to push the beds to the wall to get a gap between them :( Staff were really helpful and the rooms were clean.

 "Decent 3 star hotel"
A nice hotel, pretty basic but clean...no tea or coffee in the actual rooms but there is free coffee machine in the foyer. Its a non smoking hotel too which for some Amsterdam visitors, will be a downside, for others...no problem. Would I stay here again...probably. I would give this hotel 7 out of 10.

"Good location, basic but clean and comfortable"
This hotel was fine for our 2 night stay, it was a hand location for bars and restaurants. The tram stop just a 5 minute walk. The staff were mainly helpful, the room was quite small but this was expected for the cost & location.

 "Eden Theatre Hotel"
Hotel was nice and in a good location near the Ledisplein. Carpets in bedroom let it down badly as they are stained and need replacing. TV in room didn't work but was fixed on reprting it at reception. All staff we came in contact with were pleasant. Would go back to this hotel again.

"Good location, with the centre on walking distance"
Pros: Good location, with the centre on walking distance
Cons: This was a very disappointing stay. when we arrived someone had been sick on the front door of the hotel (great first impression), whilst this can happen it took housekeeping about 20 minutes to come and clean it. the receptionist was friendly, but in my view did not look very presentable. check-in is at 3pm (which is fair) but on a city trip you expect guests to check in earlier and leave their luggage. whilst there is a space to leave luggage, we had to put it in and take it out ourselves, the luggage room closes, but everyone with luggage has access to it. we were then told that we should not leave any valuables and that we leave the luggage there at our own risk. i think this is unacceptable in a city centre hotel; this should be a secured facility. the hotel room was small, with view over the very unattractive back area of the hotel. i asked for a double bed, but we got a room with two singles next to each other. this would have been fine, but the beds were on wheels and kept rolling apart from each other. the bathroom is small, with a cracked sink and an unforgivable dirty shower curtain (i did not shower for this reason). towels are hanging above the toilet, which i think is not very hygienic. i would not return to this eden hotel, i have stayed in several and this was by far not the eden experience i was expecting and got accustomed to.
