Our room and bathroom were old: the bathroom not very clean (because it was old; you can't make it clean anymore)
Because of this, we wouldn't recomanded the hotel. It doens't smell nice either.

The breakfast was far away from special. You can roasted your bread, but that was all. two different sort off bread. Fruit juist peaches (not fresh) or an apple or so.
Jus d'orange not fresh:

It was normal, but for that too expensive is our opinion.

 "Excellent Value and Great Location"
We really enjoyed our visit to Amsterdam from the US for the weekend. It was in a great location near the Musuem quarter with easy access to 2 main tram lines heading to/fro the city center which made it very easy to get around. The room was nice and spacious and we're excited to have had air conditioning as some properties in Europe does not provide it. Only downside was we wished it was made clear that breakfast was not included with our room rate as we came down thinking it was free. Overall, great value and pleasant experience.

 "not great"
The beds were quite uncomfortable with hard pillows and quilts. Most of the staff were helpful and nice, but a few came off ignorant. The bin in our room was rather small and any excess rubbish (that was put next to the bin and in carrier bags) was ignored by the maid. The location was much longer from the town center than made out - Trams were close to the hotel and rather handy, but stopped running about midnight, so therefore we had to go back at a reasonable time every night. This was made worse by the fact that there are no shops near the hotel that are open after 5pm, due to the area being residential.Much more of a hotel for a business trip rather than a holiday.

 "weekend break"
at first I thought the hotel was a little to far out of the main centre, however after finding my way about it is in an excellent location. The Leidsplein area is a nice 10 to 15 minutes walk away, passing some good attractions and is a very good night out.The 197 bus to and from the airport stops right next to the hotel,4 euros each per journey.Tram no. 16 goes into the centre. Good map and transport guide from hotel very easy to follow.Went to theRed light area for a look but found it very intimidating and could not move as it was jam packed..Couldnt wait to get back to the Leidsplein. Most expensive pint was in the Euro bar on Dam square,*8 euros. only had the one in there.Overall a good weekend with plenty of sights to see.

"Definitely not good value for money"
Is this a 4* hotel? CLEANLINESS & ROOM: we found hairs in the bath tub, on the bed sheets and on the toilet seat, the room clearly was poorly serviced before checking in. After using the coffee service the teaspoon wasn't cleaned and the mug was just rinsed. Coffee wasn't replenished and run out of shower gel which wasn't replaced either. Minibar was only stocked with two bottles of still water and nothing else. Toiletries were also poor. The room was poorly lit and the separate toilet was so small that gave us the feeling of being locked in the cupboard and never went into the toilet with the door closed.LOCATION: It's half an hour away from the airport on the 197 bus and the centre is located a few mins away on the tram. It's a fairly short walk from Van Gogh Museum and a lovely park. However, next time I am in Amsterdam, I will choose to stay more central for the same money.SERVICE: Reception service was decent, they allowed us to print out our boarding passes and to leave the baggage in the storage for a few hour although we weren't given a receipt for what was left which we found rather odd for a 4* hotel. I was pleased to see that none of the other guests took my laptop case when I returned. Once we checked out, we were asked for 5% city tax which wasn't included in the initial price.SLEEP QUALITY: We slept well overall, perhaps because we were on the 3rd floor but the area seems quiet at night (the nightlife starts from Leidseplein which is 5 mins away on the tram). The bed was comfortable although the duvet didn't have sheets to cover it (again, poor standards for a 4* hotel).VALUE: we would have been happy if this was a 50 euro per night accomodation (city tax included) but as it worked out twice as much, what we got in return just wasn't enough.P.S. When you check in, the receptionist will ask to take your credit card but in fact she will process 50 euro guarantee deposit which won't go through if the room is left undamaged. I have been in several other cities in Europe and never had to do that.

 "Excellent Stay"
Stayed for 3 nights and cannot fault hotel, rooms were clean, bathrooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Location probably not the best but suited us fine as in a quieter area so were not disturbed at night, trams were easily accessible to the hotels and took five minutes to get in the centre.Would definitely stay here again when next visit to Amsterdam as certainly worth the money.Staff are very helpful and courteous.

"Excellent location; good value for money (at the time i booked!); easy..."
Pros: Excellent location; good value for money (at the time i booked!); easy excess to public transportation to city centre
Cons: I could only get into my room after 14:00 hrs. that is hard when you arrive early in the morning after a 12 hour flight!
