Pros: Friendly staff, excellent location, nice breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunately i was not able to call from the room and based on the info provided by the receptionist, the only way you can make an outside call is from the reception desk. when i asked her to open the phoneline, she informed me that it was not possible. when i verified the next day, it turned out that they do open the phoneline upon request. apparemtly it was the girl's first day. the towels were old and had holes in them, bad pillows and the rooms are too dark.
Pros: Excellent serviceminded staaf. very high standard in spoken english. perfect location, and no disturbing traffic around the hotel.
Cons: Shabby rooms. in urgent need of complete overhaul.

"Staff were very helpful and friendly, location was great, close to vondel..."
Pros: Staff were very helpful and friendly, location was great, close to vondel park and tram stop lovely quiet residential area but easy access to all sights.
Cons: Room was very small, especially limited head height as an attic room which was tricky as my husband is 6 foot 4 tall. bathroom was shabby, mouldy tiles and toiletries basket had seen better days.

"The location is great right next to the vondel park and a 5 minutes walk to..."
Pros: The location is great right next to the vondel park and a 5 minutes walk to centre. nice rooms.
Cons: The hotel's own website make a big deal about having the best breakfast in town. our first morning we wanted to try it out but it was pretty regular. we were told breakfast only ran until 10. we checked the folder in our room and the breakfast menu had bacon, eggs, sausages on it and was until 10.30. we have seen nothing of that at the buffet. still paid full price though. we complained and were told that they only served the hot breakfast (sausages, eggs and bacon) in the summer!! and she would remove the breakfast folder from the room. that never happened and a few days later we could smell eggs, and bacons coming from the breakfast room. we never did go again though. on new-years day they were out of warm water, so we had to wait to shower at night just before we went out for new year. they said it always happened at special holidays, which should be easy to foresee then, right?

"Nice house"
Pros: Nice house. otherwise nothing. really nothing.
Cons: Bordering on rude but more correctly indifferent staff, sure, a lot of tourist pass through amsterdam and i can undestand a certain amount of "fatigue" but with the reception we got (from more than one staff),,,look for a new job! as for the question below the answer is nobody!

"Hotel atlas is in a beautiful residential neighborhood of amsterdam, near..."
Pros: Hotel atlas is in a beautiful residential neighborhood of amsterdam, near the rijksmuseum and van gogh, the concert hall, and next to beautiful vondelpark which is full of life with bicyclists, joggers and people walking; also, it is a short tram ride to the restaurant district. our room was very comfortable with all expected conveniences. the staff were very friendly and helpful. our departure flight was canceled and the management accomodated us for an extra day.
Cons: I would only say that like all hotels in amsterdam the stairs are narrow and steep and the rooms a little small.

"Staff helpful and knowledgable about the local area, facilities and..."
Pros: Staff helpful and knowledgable about the local area, facilities and amenities.
Cons: Although room was clean, towels etc were threadbare. buffet breakfast service was not good. many things empty, food only luke room and very greasy. no tea or coffee served at breakfast. no cutlery available.
Pros: Quiet neighborhood, good value, clean room. not quite as advertised, but comfortable and secure. breakfast was hardy and tasty. staff was very polite and conscientious. room was cleaned and towels were changed daily.
Cons: Our room was sized for two twin beds in an l configuration. the website offers a "double bed" option, which is created by pushing the two beds together. unfortunately, the room is too narrow to allow one to walk around the combined bed to the other half of the room. instead you have to climb over the end of the bed. once there, the other half of the room was fine - desk, two chairs, night stand.
