How to reach the Hampshire Inn Hotel Prinsengracht?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take tram: 16, 24 and 25 from the square in front of the station to the Keizersgracht/vijzelsstraat. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 4 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

Staff couldn't be more helpful, room was clean nice shower tv phone in room use of internet 1st 30 minutes free, and 10to20 minutes walking distance to all the major attractions or a stop and go bus service right outside the hotel

We researched our hotels extensively before we left. our criteria was 3 star,with double bed & shower and close to our arrival/departure points. this hotel has fulfilled all of these requirements as well at a reasonable price. it is easy to spend alot of money on a bad hotel in amsterdam. this thankfully is a good one at a good price. be warned, things open late in amsterdam so ask for breakfast at booking.We had nothing bad to say.Anonymous

The hotel was in a perfect situation with a lovely outlook and close to all the areas of interest to me. the hotel reception staff were friendly and very helpful.Rooms were rather small and quite hot. although the shower room was new and cleaned well each day, not much attention was paid to the rest of the room. two day the bin was not emptied and tea and coffee were never replenished after the first day of my four day stay. £100 per night was quite expensive for the rooms we were given.Feldman

The hotel is very conveniently located on the prinsengracht, near tram lines and restaurants (try the carrousel restaurant, a few blocks away, for pancakes and poffertjes with fruit and ice cream), with many museums within walking distance. the staff is friendly and helpful. except for the highest priced rooms the rooms aren't huge, but they are more than adequate and are very clean. ours had a great view of the canal. there is a quiet garden in the interior where you can sit and relax. we have stayed here many times and highly recommend this hotel.Anonymous

Ive been many hotels in amsterdam over the years & usually been dissapointed by the lack of quality, misleading star rating & overpricing, the hamshire inn was a very pleasant surprise. i found it to be in a great location in a quiet zone but only 10 mins walk to museumplein & leidseplein one way & 15min walk to dam square. the hotel was clean, staff very pleasant & helpfull. there is a nice seated area out the back for coffee & smoking. i didnt take breakfast so i cant comment on that but if you need a snack to take out for the day , there is a large reasonably priced supermarket 5 mins away on the vitzelgraght. if you can get a good deal its well worth it to stay in the tranquil hampshire inn.. would definatly consider staying again if i could find a good deal on price again.. Dont really have any negative comments based on this visit.holliday

The hotel was excellent, a lot more than i would have expected from the pictures in the website and the reviews from previous guests. we were given a room with canal view, which was very nice. staff was very kind and the room very clean. the localization of the hotel is also excellent, in the prinsengracht canal, which we thougt was much nicer than the central area.
