Heart of amsterdam was great place to stay right near all coffee shops and redlight district, great place to meet people.

The location is fantastic. every thing at your finger tips. The nosie drove me crazy. it was impossible to sleep in the place. i stayed in room one which was facing out to a court yard and people were out there all night. room was also beside reciption and the noise of reception. i was woking up again by recption people coming and going. great hotel just pity about the noise. if i had to stay there again i would rather not go. We read the review from tripadvisor.com after we had already booked the room and we kind of got freaked out. the reviews were horrible. there were 5 of us traveling so we figured we would be ok. once we got there we realized that it really wasn't that bad. it wasn't a luxurious place but it wasn't that bad. our room was pretty small and we had bunk beds for 4. the bathroom was small too but we managed. the hotel had everything that we needed a room, a bed, and a shower, so it served its purpose. we all enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique hotel with everything you need for a short stay.I enjoyed my stay but this is not a place you would want to stay with a family and kids. it is right in the middle of the red light district. one staff male member was not very friendly and would not apologise for a mistake he made
bathroom floors wet and not easy to get changed in without wetting your trousers
cancelation policy is harsh as i wanted to cancel my last night which i tried to do before 48 hours but is not possible as you must do this 48 hours before you arrive for your first night.
access was given to my locker to another guest who damaged my computer by shoving his suitcase into my computer which was in the locker - no apologise from same male staff who issued the both of us with the same key

Friendly helpful staff, wicked themed room (lock stock & two smoking barrels). it really is the heart of amsterdam! very good budget hotel. if you just want somewhere to rest your head this is the place.Room was too dark and couldnt see in the mirror.carole brimicombe

I'd never stayed in a hostel before so was slightly nervous beforehand, but i have nothing but good things to say about the heart of amsterdam. clean rooms, comfortable beds, clean en-suite bathroom, good breakfast and excellent location. i will definatly be recommending this hostel to any freinds visiting amsterdam.Anonymous

I sent my son here with his 4 friends for his 18th birthday, he was well looked after and had a great time met other travellers was a young crowd staying, no trouble safe and honest crew runing the hotel, he had an amazing time and i would certainly let him return to this hotelAnonymous
