This 3-star hotel is nicely situated in the south/west part of Amsterdam, directly at the city ring (A10/A4/A2). The hotel is easy to reach by public transport and for your car or touring car there is a closed parking lot (paid parking). Furthermore, there is a wireless Internet connection available in the entire hotel.

All 218 rooms are modernly equipped and all the rooms have a shower, toilet and hairdryer. A limited amount of rooms have a Jacuzzi. The hotel is perfectly located in the south/west part of Amsterdam, 10 minutes from the RAI Convention Centre, the World Fashion Centre and the World Trade Centre. The hotel is easy to reach by public transport as well as by car.
How to reach the Hem Hotel? How to reach the Hem Hotel?
1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).

2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram line 2 from the square in front of the station and get off at tram stop 'Westlandgracht'. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 6 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

Second night, we changed to a normal room, which was very nice. i will return to this hotel, but definitely not to the annex rooms.
Irst, we booked a room in the annex. the room was very small and very noisy. it was impossible to get any sleep. we tried to swich to a normal room, but we were told there were none available.

I felt very mislead by the website, we booked a budget room but did not expect what we got, instead of a simple room in the hotel, we were in a seperate makeshift plasterboard building, which had inadequate heating and did not feel secure. for the price we expected a little more or at least an explanation of the facilities, it came as a nasty shock when we arrived. to sum it up, when we inquired about the missing shower curtain we were told those rooms dont have shower curtains and as such the bathroom (with no floor mat either) was completely soaked every night!

Good choice of food at breakfas, hot and fresh. regular tram service into amsterdam centre, lots of places to get on and off tram to see attractions and museums. hotel room was clean and staff were pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was very clean and tidy, staff were pleasant and very helpful and also very quiet place. overall i was very impressed and will be staying there again.

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.the rooms were clean and serviced.
The annexe rooms are a little wierd. if anyone walks on the top floor the wall and bed begin to shake as if its a tremor

I wasn't expecting much from the quadruple room we booked, but i was very pleasantly surprised. clean, friendly staff, fantastic value for money! strongly recommended!

Excellent value for $ though a little far from the center. room clean with all the basics friendly staff
Insistence on the 2pm check-in time despite what appeared to be available rooms. breakfast seems to be overly expensive. internet should be free. soap / shampoo dispensers in the rooms would be more environmentally friendly and lest costly for the hotel

Had booked cheap room in the annex, and it smelled like a sewer! they gave us an upgrade for 25 euro extra per night, which was pretty fair, but the new room smelled like a cigar pit. finally the third room worked, but heater was broken. they gave us portable heater which worked really well, so things turned out ok for us after a few hours of dealing with it. the restaurant staff was wonderful.
The single beds pushed together to make a double really suck - they need to use real double beds. all in all, we won't be staying there agan.

The lady at the front desk let us try a different room, since ours was disgusting. the room she offered us, however, was also quite gross, so we just stuck with our original smelly room. another positive thing was the food i had for lunch was quite tasty.
There was a disgusting smell in the building our rooms were in. our room smelled like a toilet mixed with a dumpster mixed with a dead body. also, there was blood on the window.

The staff was very helpful
2,50€ for 15 min internet is too expensive i was in the annex and it was terrible!! the building is made of containers, the smell inside is really bad, everything is old and used.the bathroom is absolutely crazy!you have to space to be on the lavatory and if you take a bath it feels like your in a lake..

к заявленной сумме мне пришлось доплатить еще 80 евро за три дня пребывания в отеле. найти отель оказалось не таким простым занятием. персонал отеля иногда не замечал посетителей, занимаясь своими делами. кроме того, я заказывал номер для некурящих, а нас поселили в номера для курящих и ночью некоторые из посетителей пытались своим ключом открыть нашу дверь. также к минусам - высокая стоимость завтраков и вай фая.
