This hotel on the Singel in the city centre, is next to the flower market, near Leidseplein, Rembrandtplein and Dam Square.

Hotel Agora Amsterdam is conveniently located in a renovated canal house which dates back to 1735. The building is situated on the Singel in the city centre of Amsterdam, next to the flower market and near the city’s main squares: Leidseplein, Rembrandtplein and Dam Square. You can find many of the sights that Amsterdam has to offer, such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, the Amsterdam Hermitage and the Anne Frank House, within walking distance of the hotel.

Agora Hotel is the perfect starting point to enjoy a pleasant evening in the well-known Amsterdam night life or to go shopping in the main shopping streets. From simple to elegant shops, flea markets to antique shops, they can all be easily reached from the Hotel Agora Amsterdam. This hotel is well known for its friendly and helpful staff and they are ready to help you with all your questions and wish you an unforgettable stay in Amsterdam.

The hotel rooms are comfortably decorated and equipped with a telephone, safe, radio and cable television. Hotel Agora Amsterdam has rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Furthermore, a number of rooms have a lovely view on the Singel, one of the most beautiful and renowned canals in Amsterdam. Other rooms overlook the terrace/courtyard. Also, the hotel has a breakfast room, a lobby and a garden, which is a nice terrace during the summer.

The hotel is located in the heart of  Amsterdam's city centre. The bustling area in which the hotel is situated, forms a good picture of the life of the people in Amsterdam, but may also cause some noise. The rooms with a view on the court are the most quiet rooms.

 "Perfect location"
This hotel is right in the middle of Amsterdam. You're two minutes walk from Dam square and everything is accessible. There's a super market two doors away to right to the hotel. Only problem is, they do not have a lift. If you have room at on the 3rd or 4th floor, good luck, the stairs are really steep and they spiral.

 "Lovely hotel"
We were a little nervous after reading some reviews for this hotel. Don't be, the hotel was ideally situated, in walking distance of the centre and all the main shopping streets. Clean, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, and reasonably priced for Amsterdam prices. I would highly recommend!

 "average hotel good location"
clean, but rooms are very small wi-fi not working properly, is perfect is someone want to stay in center amsterdam near bars and restaurants, canals area, and 20 minutes walk from the museum and not too far from the red lights district

 "Average"
There are obvious + and - to staying at this hotel. The - are, the room I had which was court yard facing needed a bit of an update, it look tired and shabby and I'm almost certain I was bitten by bed mites. The room was not ready - beds left unmade from previous guest despite my arrival after the 3pm check in - although this was quickly rectified when raised with the worker on reception. I can confirm the constant drone/resonance of house music from the club situated next door (Saturday 8pm to just before 5am). The building is traditional Dutch style narrow and step stairs. The + are, the location is great easy walking distance to almost everywhere. The Staff within the hotel are warm and friendly without being overbearing. The breakfast is really good quality/value bearing in mind its included within cost of the room (bacon and scrambled egg was my personal fav). Well stocked supermarket at the bottom of the street. All in all this as I said has +sides and -sides which is why its rated average, but realistically who goes to Amsterdam to sit in their hotel room for anything other than sleep and to freshen up. If you want cheap and cheerful with a quirky stair case and character then this is for you. If on the other hand you want Hilton standards for B&B prices, keep looking.

 "Good Value Hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over Queen's day period with another couple. Because we booked eary, we got a really good rate. It's in a good location. Cannot fault the cleanliness & rooms. Our only dissatisfaction was that not all the staff were friendly. The ones that were could not be more helpful. Breakfast was a bit hit & miss, but they blamed Queen's day for no deliveries. There was also a loud disco next door that kept us awake one night, but it was quiet the other 3 nights. We would definitley stay here again & would recommend this hotel if you get it at a good price.

 "hotel Agora"
We enjoyed our short break at this hotel. the first room we were given was up four narrow flights of stairs. The room itself was small and the bathroom was outside the room. I went down to reception to ask if there was any chance of having a room lower down in the hotel and was immediately given a bigger room with en suite four steps up. The guy at reception could not have been more helpful. it was a bit of a shame that the hotel was undergoing renovations so the lounge and dining space was limited, but it is the early quiet season in Amsterdam and I'm sure the improvements will be worth the wait. All in all I would recommend this hotel, if for nothing else the excellent location within the city. There are good tram links, a large supermarket on the corner and most attractions are easily reached either on foot or by tram. We will be back here, but will make sure we contact the owners to arrange for the same room, as suggested by the guy in reception.

"Very nice staff, great location, but.."
The people we met, have been very nice an the hotel is located in the middle of Life in Amsterdam, wich is great, but: It is very loud, we could here our neighbour on the toilet :-) The rooms are old and a bit too worn and shabby. The breakfast was not what we expected for a Room of up to 150€ per night. Nice stay for a backpacker, not realy for someone, that wants an "uptodate-Hotel"

 "Stay at the hotel"
I was really pleased with staff service. They were really friendly and helpful. The Hotel itself is old, but rooms are cleaned and are well looked after. Many people complain about the breakfast, but it was not too bad, well, it did fill me up!!! In the end of the day most people come to enjoy Amsterdam and only sleep in their rooms and therefore it’s perfect for that!!! Rooms are cleaned every day!!! Location is perfect, nice clean and welcoming place!!!! I had a good time!!!! But if you guys want something five star , do not expect it in this hotel, but if u want a nice, tidy and comfortable place to sleep and have a wash, for reasonably cheap price and great location, this is the place for you.

 "cheap but cheerful.x"
My stay at hotel agora was perfect. I was on a tight budget with my boyfriend visiting Amsterdam and all it had to offer. We selected it because it offered breakfast, has wifi, has an en suit and the location is extremely central to all the attractions. Ok it furniture looked at like it was from your nans home and the TV you probably had as a teenager but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed, and the staff were helpful and polite. You are given a card key to let you in any doors leading to your room including the outside door so you can gain entry any time day or night, if you are more of a night owl there is no worry you may be locked out. Breakfast is served at reasonable times half 7 till ten and consists of the basics, cereals, toast, a selection of teas and coffee, juice, jam, cheese and Ham. Some fruit and eggs also. There are plentiful cafes near by (practically next door) if you preference a full English. It wasnt quiet the view over lokking the courtyard they'd made outit to be but In my opoinin if you are a young couple on a budget, it is just perfect. I truly enjoyed my stay. X
