Hotel Ajax D.R. Amsterdam LocationHotel Ajax D.R. Amsterdam Location (Map)
Best location of Amsterdam's city centre!

Hotel Ajax is located so very central in the city center, that it's right in the middle of all popular main tourist attractions. Central Station is only on a short walking distance (9 minutes) and the hotel is surrounded by a lot of museums, the Anne Frank House, the Red Light district, Artis the Zoo, and of course many pubs, coffeeshops and discotheques.

Best location to the RAI Exposition and Congress Centre!

Hotel Ajax is a perfect choice for business people also, as it is possible to move very easy and fast through Amsterdam by the public transport. Especially the Rai Exposition can be reached very easily as tram number 4 stops in front of the hotel and takes you straight to the Exhibition center without any stops over. (From 2011 we also will have a metro station in front of the hotel especially for RAI visitors.)

In the middle of the shopping centre

In the surrounding area of our hotel you will also find popular shopping areas that can offer you various kind of shops, the most charming boutiques and the prettiest cafés of Amsterdam.

The staff were friendly, and there was lots to eat at breakfast, the location of the hotel was excellent, within a few mins of all tourist attractions
The room was small, there was no wardrobe in the room just a clothes rail and shelves, no dessing table only a small handmade unit with unfinished edges, the net curtains at the window didn't look like they had been washed in a number of years although curtains were not really necessary as there was a brick wall less than a metre from our window which made the room very dark, we needed the lights on all the time, the en suite was tiny you could sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time, this en suite would not suit people above average size, we had gone for a romantic break and requested a double bed, we were given single beds pushed together and rather thin duvets, however these were clean, the website stated that each room had a dvd player and a radio, these were not present in our room, also tea making facilities would have been a nice touch, if you do book into this hotel and are given room 102 here is a challenge for you, see if you can spot the silver back gorilla, want a clue, you need to lie down to see this.

The location was good and the price was as good as can be expected in europe these days.
It is more like a hostel-very minimal, the bed was very worn and uncomfortable.

The hotel is a traditional amsterdam building with steep narrow stairs and quite small rooms especially on higher floors. but perfectly fine for an overnight stop and very wel placed (on rokin, damrak) for facilities.
