Hotel Alexander Amsterdam

The hotel is situated in a very quiet residential area and the room was bigger than i expected. the breakfast buffet was very good, with a good selection of fresh fruit, as well as cheese and cold meats, plus good fresh bread rolls. there was also a good selection of hot drinks. the staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall, it was a niee hotel, a little run down and older but clean. good location right by vondel park and the staff was accomodating when we wanted to change rooms due to the street noise outside the window.

Room was very clean and spacious

I took my friend from malta for her birthday and the owner was very accommodating to my request to make her experience pleasant. lovely hotel in v.good area of amsterdam and the view from our room was excellent - looking on to the garden where parrots where flying through the trees - most unexpected. the owner and staff were very nice.

Check in very friendly and staff ready to answer your questions. room clean and comfortable, will consider using again.

Bus 197 costs eur4 and gets you to the leidseplein square. the hotel itself is located on a beautiful quiet street 10min walk from the square - look for the marriott hotel, it's on the street next to it. fantastic location - amsterdam is small yopu can walk everywhere. free parking from 12 till 9 and on sunday right outside the hotel - be careful though, our car was broken into...even though the street looks lovely. on the other site of the street there is a park-boring but relaxing:-) staff is very helpful and th front desk is open 24hours a day.nice simple breakfast. room for 4 is like two rooms together, but without a door - good size! clean! it's a bit cold, but the heating is working - just switch it on. i really liked the hotel!!!! fantastic value for money, clean and great location.

Good location

This was my 4th stay at the alexander. the location for the price and everything associated with the hotel have contributed to my vactions in amsterdam.

Cenral and quiet location, friendly and helpful staf!

I cannot fault this hotel in any way, the description was accurate and having read lots of the previous reviews i can only reinforce the overall opinion of my party (6 of us)that this was a great value for money hotel with a superb location. i would not hesitate to return there or reccommend to friends.

Brilliant place to stay. all the staff are so friendly and helpful. very professional and welcoming and able to offer suggestions, advice and directions at the drop of a hat. hotel close to vondel park and transport.

The staff were extremely kind and helpful. breakfast was good and there was always lots to choose from. the location- on a quiet, attractive street- was near numerous restaurants, museums, and the tram.
