We visited Amsterdam for two days. My daughter left clothes in our room. When we came home we have had an email that we lost something. I asked if they would send it by mail to me and the did, I was very glad that the receptionist has taken the trouble to do so in his free time!Perfect location, good rooms I am definitely coming back!

"Clean and friendly"
Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: My only disappoinment was that i booked single room on web site but they rang me shortly after to say that was mistake and i had to take double/treble room. at the time i had already booked 1 treble at £79 and assumed this was the same but when it came to checkout it seemed this had risen to 105 euro. when i checked my booking on the other room it did show 105 euro so i dont know where it went wrong as i had definitely clicked on £79.
did not like being in outside annexe
also i wish i had been made aware of charges on using debit card as i could have brought cash.

"I spent two weeks traveling europe, staying in a different hotel or b&b..."
Pros: I spent two weeks traveling europe, staying in a different hotel or b&b each night and hotel alexander was by far the best of all of them. it is the only hotel out of all of them that i have any desire to return to. it is well set up, the rooms (and bathrooms) are clean, the sheets and other bedding are soft, crisp and clean, it has a wonderful quiet garden out back and it's situated in a heighborhood that is peaceful and quiet and yet still close to everything i wanted to do or see.
the staff was exceptionally pleasant and a much needed improvement over the staff of the hotels in paris. congratulations hotel alexander!! i will be back.
