I needed a cheap and well-located hotel for an overnight stay on a business visit and the alfa plantage fulfilled all my needs at excellent value for moneyThe stairs are very narrow and could be difficult for older or disabled users in any emergency - but there is a lift for ordinary useMasson

It was out of the city in a quiet area serviced by regular public transportWe had a room the size of a shoebox, the linen was not clean and there were no basic facilities in the room such as place to put suitcase, tea making facilities.Anonymous

Our room was very small - in the loft and the shower room was tiny, but it was very clean. we didn't need any more though. the hotel is also very well situated. about 15 minutes walk to dam square but there is a tram stop right outside the hotel.The price was very expensive, but it seems like all the hotels in amsterdam are very pricey. our neighbours came back at 4am in the morning and did not settle down before 5am. the walls are not very sound proof and we could hear everything.Anonymous

Upon payment of the proposed room rate, there was an additional 4% credit card handling charge applied on top, which there was no information about what so ever. if we had know this, we would have choosen another hotel, since the total amount, with the "credit card" handling charge, where closer to the rate offered by many other, better hotels.
