Hotel Amstelzicht is centrally located along the Amstel River between Munt Square and the Music theatre, within walking distance of all famous attractions for shopping, culture and entertainment. The RAI Exhibition Center can be reached by tram nr. 4 (at Rembrandtplein) and the journey takes about 10 minutes.
How to reach the Hotel Amstelzicht? How to reach the Hotel Amstelzicht?
1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).

2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take metro 51 or 54 from the square in front of the station and get off at metro stop 'Waterlooplein'. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 3 minutes. The metros and trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room was very noisy from 3am to 6am - perhaps because of a nearby bar. our beds were very uncomfortable. it was annoying that the hotel did not serve breakfast and we had to walk quite a long way to get breakfast.

I had a quadro room for 4 people.. the room was located in a seprate building rather then the hotel it self..we had two seprate rooms in a apartment, both rooms were clean and comfatable with tv provided in both rooms..overall very satisfied with the location of the hotel, about 15 mins walk from the main square and all the mainstream cafe.. i would advise anyone to stay at this hotel on a budget.
No smoking in the hotel was a big let down..

The rooms need some attention, quite shabby, but clean. very soft beds, watch out if you have a bad back. very steep stairs, worn stair carpets.

The staff was very helpful, even found us a needle for a button that came off a jacket. the apartment we stayed at was renovated and had an amazing view of the canal. the furniture was all ikea, so modern, but did feel like living in a ikea show room after a few days. great location to everything.
There was a gay bar on the first floor, underneath our apartment. it did get loud from about 10:30pm-3am on weekends and some weekdays. but we found we were so tired most of the time, that we had no problem falling asleep. it does smell of cigarette smoke at time because of the bar that's below, it's like the smell seeps through the walls.

It was well located.
We were put in an apartment a few doors away from the main hotel. the rooms were fine but we had trouble sleeping because of all the noise from the plumbing, we reported this to reception but they did nothing about it. the problem was already known to them but they did not warn us about the problem even though we had two young children.

There is only one positive think about this hotel - location
1.cleaners did not clean room properly, they did not even empty rubbish bin 2.disgusting shower 3.it was very noisy (techno music) till around 5 o'clock in the morning 4.last night there was mouse in our bedroom

People came into our room to fix a door when we weren't there? do not know what that is about. apparently they did not know this before hand but somehow figured it out during our stay. they then screw fixed the balcony door so we could not use the balcony. mint! ha ha would not recommend
