 "Great position very close to Palace."
Lovely hotel and very helpful Reception. Room a bit small but ok for a couple of nights. Only a five minute walk to Central Station and right in the middle of lots of shops. We went for Fleetwood Mac concert at Ziggo Dome and hotel was just right. Only had drinks in Restaurant but beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere.

 "Ok but not great"
This was our 6th stay in Amsterdam for a special Birthday and the first time we have stayed at this Hotel. We usually stay at the Radisson or Estherea and I would say I prefer these in terms of quality of Hotel Rooms. Benefits of being at this hotel was location (right on Dam Square) and the clean, quiet room. The Staff at Reception were very nice and helpful. The not so good thing was it felt impersonal (in that I mentioned it was a special Birthday when booking but there was no acknowledgement of it, whereas at the Radisson, they gave us truffles and left a card for my husband's normal birthday last year which was a nice touch). Also, the bathroom was a wet room but small so that the water on the floor would seep into the bedroom if you didn't keep the door closed and all the bathroom was obviously wet after showering. Also, there were no toiletries except standard bath gel & shampoo combined so it was a good job I had mine with me. The toilet was right up against the wall between the sink and the wall with another wall in front so that was awkward too in that there was no space. We asked for an ice bucket but they were too busy to bring it up (I think due to their staff being busy in the restaurant) so we went down and got it pretty much straight away so no issue there. Overall, I would say for the price we paid to stay here, we wouldn't choose to stay here again.

 "Convenient Location"
The room we stayed in was very small, but clean and comfortable. Close to everything so very busy around the hotel. The service was excellent and the desk clerk recommended a wonderful restaurant. We also ate dinner in the hotel restaurant which we highly recommend as well.

 "A great choice"
Great location, clean and comfy. The only minor down side was the size of the bathroom, but once you'd got used to it being a room for a small one, it was fine. Very helpful staff and would have no hesitation in staying there again..

 "Great hotel"
We were so lucky to choose this hotel. In the best area and around you every thing places you have to see , restaurants, shopping. Staff are so friendly and helpful . I would certainly go to Amsterdam again and book in the same hotel . Thanks to every one who made my trip enjoyable.

 "Good hotel overall"
1st floor at the back was a little noisy with McDonalds on the street below, but you cant beat the location for convenience and the room quality is very good.

 "Hotel is perfectly situated"
Pros: Hotel is perfectly situated. room was quiet and clean. one of the few hotels offering smoking rooms, but the smell did not permeate in the corridors or the rest of the hotel.
Cons: Absolutely tiny room and smallest bathroom i have seen in a hotel (no bath of course, only strange shower with no shower curtain).

Restaurant De Roode Leeuw dates back to 1911 and enjoys an outstanding reputation, renowned for its Dutch regional specialties. With its dark panelling, Art Deco features and wooden carvings, it is considered to be an Amsterdam landmark. The restaurant is a unique meeting point in the heart of the city. At any time of the day you can enjoy an intimate meal or a business appointment – or a simple drink or snack.

Dutch cuisine can be a genuine artform! Once you have become acquainted with the delightful creations of the chef you will most certainly be convinced. Between 12:00 and 18:00 the menu consists of small snacks, salads, sandwiches and a choice of hot dishes, as well as more elaborate creations. From 12:00 until 22:00 the restaurant offers an a la carte menu featuring both Dutch specialties and more international dishes. The hotel prefers you to book your table in advance.
