How to reach the Hotel Barbacan?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take metro: 51 and 53 from the square in front of the station to the Weesperplein. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 9 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

Very friendly staff, nice room and brilliant bed.
Hotel was slightly out the way but there were plenty trams nearby. also there were no directions to get from the central station to the hotel,because of that we got lost by directions from the locals,so we had to get a taxiwhich cost us 15 eurosAnonymous

The hotel was priced well for the location that it was in.The hostel room never got cleaned during our 3 night stay and we only got new towels once.
hostel staff did not have maps of the local area which made it hard to initially navigate about and they told us when we arived that their credit card facilities where down and that we had to pay cash up front for the 3 nights (which we had not expected).Noor

Spotless clean despite work needed to be done in the rooms; very quiet (on a little street and no cafe or other noise possible); very well situated for whoever wants to be around this residential area of amsterdam
and a positive surprise: the room i was finally allocated was with ensuite shower/wc, for the same price of the one i booked (with no ensuite wc/shower).
internet available for 2.50 euros the 30 minutes
good breakfast for seven euros value (continental plus ham and cheese, and fruits available on a 'help yourself' basis without limits in servings)The hotel needs work, but the price indicates it really. so people going there should not expect luxury three stars hotel facilities. but if one is not bothered by appearances then the hotel is perfectAnonymous
