The hotel is very well located to experience amsterdam as a whole
Some staff were not as helpful as they could have been. no air conditioning, although cool enough with fans.

This should not be a 3 star hotel,it is an accident waiting to happen. at 11 every night the emergency doors were locked from the inside, meaning if there was ever a fire there is no way to escape. the fire exit plan attached on the inside of the rooms showed the fire exit which was dead locked and therefore not really an exit. i asked for adjoining rooms, for my children and me, even calling the hotel beforehand to confirm. my room was on the ground floor, the childrens room was on the third floor!!!! the only escape route they had was down the attic stairs which had a multitude of paint cans and cleaning material, another fire hazard.
there was no kettles in any of the rooms so i had to repeatedly ask for hot water from the receptionist and the free parking was non existant. for the safety of residents and staff at this hotel please ensure this death trap is rewiewed by the amsterdam fire safety department.

Room was attractive, spacious, clean and comfortable.
staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Personally my idea of 'blyss' would include tea making facilities and a soundproofed ceiling. the latter probably wouldn't have been a problem had there not been guests in the room above who seemed to do nothing but stomp (or wrestle?) about their room until about 3am each night.

Hotel was in an excellent position with easy access to city centre and shops and local park. at night there is no noise from outside - hotel is in quiet area.
I can't say there was much - reception on tv was not good but we were not in amsterdam to watch tv.

The hotel looked great on the web site and reception looked amazing, how ever we had to pay for our stay before we saw our room, once in the room we could see why, the bath room ceiling was green with mould, the window was proped open with a book, when i tryed to close the window there was a big hole in the frame and the draft was like a gale, the room was freezing cold and walls where dirty, add to the the fact there was no tea making facilities in the room, the only way to get a cupa was to bye 1 from the bar!!! our party of 4 all felt the wool was pulled over our eyes as the hotel looked great from the web page and in reception, but as for our rooms it fekt like a hostel, if the hotel is under redecoration then we should have been told this, is was by no means the cheepest hotel on the web site but felt like it was i would not recomend this hotel to any of my friends or family.
