Hotel Blyss Amsterdam

The hotel offers little , the room was adequate but we were in the basement and there was alot of noise from room above and the doors to the rooms would only close by being slammed when leaving the room... i did report. oh and we had a view of garden rubbish??

Bathroom not as clean as expected

Thoght the rooms would be better than they were

For 120,- euro,.(suite) i expect a bath too,..not only a shower

No. i would stay there again.

I stayed in a quad room and there was very little storage space for four people, only one cupborad for four people. i also was very dissapointed that there was no facility to make a cup of tea or coffee in the room.

The bar that was in the reception was never open. the room we had was described as a 3 bed however 4 beds were squashed in the room and the plumbing was a bit dodgy. saw the luggage room (which had better facilities than our room)

Some staff were not as helpful as they could have been. no air conditioning, although cool enough with fans.

Rooms were not very sound proof. sounds from other rooms travelled at night time!

Room required a bit of maintenance, sink tap was very loose. bar closed at 11.00pm

The hotel blyss is now called the grenhoff. not very good when you are trying to locate your accommodation still we worked it out in the end

This should not be a 3 star hotel,it is an accident waiting to happen. at 11 every night the emergency doors were locked from the inside, meaning if there was ever a fire there is no way to escape. the fire exit plan attached on the inside of the rooms showed the fire exit which was dead locked and therefore not really an exit. i asked for adjoining rooms, for my children and me, even calling the hotel beforehand to confirm. my room was on the ground floor, the childrens room was on the third floor!!!! the only escape route they had was down the attic stairs which had a multitude of paint cans and cleaning material, another fire hazard. there was no kettles in any of the rooms so i had to repeatedly ask for hot water from the receptionist and the free parking was non existant. for the safety of residents and staff at this hotel please ensure this death trap is rewiewed by the amsterdam fire safety department.
