The hotel Central Park was in a very quiet location, almost next to the attractive Vrondelpark. We received excellent service from the staff- any requests were immediatley dealt with, and everyone was very friendly.The hotel was out of the centre of Amsterdam, but it was only about a 20minute tram ride back to the Central Staion area, and at the end of a busy day sightseeing etc, it was pleasure to go back to the peace of the hotel area.We even walked back through the park one night, after a day on the canals.Our room was on the small side, but was very clean and comfortable, and as we were out all day, that was a minor problem.The bathroom with its wak-in shower was excellent.There were plenty of restaurants on the main road and a very good supermarket. We had breakfast in the hotel on two mornings and thought it was very good, with a nice selection of food.We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the hotel.

My girlfriend and i loved this Hotel. We found it good value for money and we liked the location. We asked for a room with a view when we booked and was given one overlooking part of Vondel Park. The hotel is situated within a residential area which we loved. 5 minutes walk to the bottom of Overtoom to pick up a tram. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean and bed was comfy. We did'nt eat breakfast so can't comment on the food but we will definately be staying at the Hotel Central Park next time we go to Amsterdam.

Pros: Very clean, nice view from top floor, good value for money
Cons: A bit far from the center. we rented bikes so it was easier to get to the center (you just ride through the park) but if you go by foot or public transport its not as convenient...

Cons: We did not have a good experience with the hotel.
first when we arrived the staff looked good as we arrived at 11 in the morning, but there was no problem to check in.
however due to technical issues we could not check in after all.
when we came back at 14.30 there were no rooms available, with reasoning of staff that a lot of people checked in and we should have checked in in the morning, which absolutely made no sense as we had a reservation.
when they gave us the room keys it turned out that one room was already occupied when entering the room.
in the end they sorted out the rooms (instead of 3 double rooms, two doubles and one single).
issues with the rooms:
- airconditioning did not work properly: it was blowing cold air all night and was very noisy (could not turn it off or change temperature)
- room was not cleaned after first day
- firealarm in the hotel went off because of shower damps, really weird!
- one room had a leak from the bathroom above it
breakfast:
we only went for breakfast in the hotel once as it was horrible. bread and meats seemed to be there for days and should not be eaten.
basic impression: staff not capable of running the hotel, causing all above issues.
