Hotel Crystal is located on a quiet street on a typical Amsterdam neighbourhood full of local shops, on the edge of the main canal ring area.
The 'Leidseplein' is a few minutes walk away and is one of the main entertainment areas in the city. From the Leidseplein one of the most popular shopping streets goes directly into the heart of the centre with the Flower Market, the Rembrandt Square and Dam Square. From there the Red Light District is just a few steps away, and, in the opposite direction the Jordaan expands with a multitude of small cobblestone streets and picturesque smaller canals.
How to reach the Hotel Crystal?2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram 1,2 or 5 from the square in front of the station to the Leidse plein. From there you should walk straight over the bridge towards Marriot hotel. When you cross the bridge turn right and walk along the canal. You will find us in the third street on your left hand side. It takes about 5 minutes to reach the hotel from the Leidse plein. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

This hotel is absolutely fine if you are in amsterdam for a weekend break or just passing through and you want something no nonsense and functional. its not a dreamy romantic place and that is reflected in the fair price. the staff were good and it was a very relaxed and respectful atmosphere. the room and facilities were clean and the shower was great. lots of room and a good temp. We stayed on the second floor and the toilet cubicle was ridiculously small. the stairs (there is no lift) are typically amsterdam and are very very steep. if you have a physical disability don't stay here.Maftei Lucian

The staff is very friendly, ready to help with everything you need. good breakfast and small but excellent patio for the cigarettes and coffee time.I wasn’t happy with the cleanliness of our room - no garbage disposal, not enough toilet paper and i wasn’t sure what bit me: a mosquito or another bug. collins

Cheap, good location just off of the main town so no noise. hotel staff very friendly and helpful. if you're looking for a cheap place to sleep then i would reccomend.No real negatives, especially for the money.White

Location is good for visits to all parts of the centre of the city.The room was not cleaned or dirty towels removed for the entire duration of the stay, even though the room price at the weekend could hardly be called low!
a strategy of minimising costs results in too few hotel staff and sometimes stressed behaviour.
general attitude of hotel management seems to be coloured by expectation of poor behaviour from backpackers etc., rather than being automatically friendly and polite to all customers.Sandhu

Breakfast was better than expected. staff was nice and helpful.Had we been mature travelers, the staircases would have been a big surprise and a bad one... i would say that some people would not be able to mount the stairs and especially not with luggage. the hotel information didn't indicate anything about this as far as i remember.Anonymous

+ friendly staff, breakfast included in the price, and the location is not far from vondelpark and the city centre. two great pizzerias nearby. the shared shower in the corridor was clean and we never had to wait for our turn to shower. in other words, a quiet hotel perfect for couples. the bed was nice, too. - if you're overweight, old, or do not like to climb very steep stairs after a night out, consider booking a room on the first floor if possible. the toilet was also very small, which could be a problem for the obese. Booked a room for 4 people, the room was very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. staff were very helpful and friendly. 5 minute walk to transport, very safe area.We were on the 4th floor and the staircase was very steep and a bit of a hard time getting our luggage up there. but still worth the stay.miss s burgess
