So based on the above title, I was very apprehensive in booking this hotel due to the reviews other people left. Anyway, I had to book it because my friends were located near this one and theirs way fully booked. Right, so this hotel was given 2 stars and I genuinely wonder why despite certain luxuries that 4 or 5 star hotels provide. The corridors were clean, the rooms were absolutely perfect, toilets and shower were clean. I mean, if you're just wanting to go on a holiday to Dam without the luxuries (room service, tucks-in, an in-house restaurant to eat, play facilities for the kids, etc.) then this is your place without a doubt. Don't be fooled by other people's reviews. This hotel does the job and I will stay here again when I next visit Dam. Another thing, you couldn't ask for a better location - you're literally in the middle of it all.....I'm not joking. Hope this helps.

Rooms were not very clean but still acceptable, found 2 small bugs. The location makes up for every flaw, it's walking distance from everything you may want to see in amsterdam.I'd give it a 7 out of 10 overall.

Great location, shame about cleanliness. Staff were helpfull. No bother leaving bags etc for safe keeping. Stairs very steep, wouldn't be suitable for older guests. Room very compact & dark. Radiator hanging off wall, curtains and window very dirty. Bed was way to soft and very small.

Reception staff are very polite. Hotel itself isn't great to look at- stairs are very narrow and steep, layout is quite confusinng.The room was tiny, and our window looked straight into another room - so we kept the curtain closed which meant the room was always very dark. The bathroom was a walk in shower room - very small but the water was nice and hot and it was generally clean.The beds are not that comfy, and the pillows were really stained.The location is absolutely great. Its right in the centre and a two minute walk from Dam Square, and only a 5 minute walk to Centraal Station. Overall, its ok. Its perfect for a short trip in Amsterdam as you won't be spending much time in your room. We stayed for one night and I don't think I could have stayed another.I think its a little over priced - you can stay at a hostel with a private bathroom for much less money than Damrak Inn, and they are probably of the same standard.

Cons: You should be informed this hotel only takes cash which is very strange for a service pre-booked with a card. in this day and age most people would pay with a card for they stay opening a tab at the bar if there was one only with all other facillites.

Cons: Loads of steep stairs,also got ripped of for city tax by the hotel even tho i had payed it on my card thy asked for it again so make sure you have proof u have paid it.

Pros: The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great location. it was an easy walk to centraal station and most of the tourist points. staff was very friendly and helpful.
