Pros: Picked hotel to escape high cost of amsterdam (we drove). excellent value for cost! free parking and breakfast were appreciated. used park n ride from arena (8 euro inclusive of train to city and back). breakfast better than expected (meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs, asst breads & cereals, asst yogurt, 3 juices, fresh fruit, custard, coffe/tea) in lovely room. helpful front desk. great that they allowed our two small dogs for a small fee. hotel is nicer than pictured. comfortable bed and linens/pillows. very clean.
Cons: Room was not overly large, but fine. stairs up to 1st floor are steep (17 steps total with one landing) but there are handrails - only an issue for disabled. current construction closure of nearby streets made it a little difficult to find with gps. sink and shower gel provided, which is why i always travel with my own soap and shampoo.

Pros: Very friendly staff. spoke excellent english. breakfast was decent. i would stay here again. far enough out of the city for things to be peaceful and quiet.
Cons: Accurate description regarding how far it is from the city. an hour on public transportation and a 10 minute walk. hotel was pleasant and clean. trains and buses stop running fairly early so the location is not ideal for staying out late unless you would like to wait until 05.00 for them to start again.

hotel was only 20 minutes from the airport
high street was seconds away
Cons: It was about 35km from amsterdam which equated to a 75 euro taxi journey meaning we had to use a bus and train to get to amsterdam central which took about 60 to 90 minutes in total
